will it be hard for me to sell a car like this?
i have a 98 ford taurus..it has some rust on the rear wheel well/fender..and the interior has a cigarette burn on the driver seat, and a light bulb burn on the carpet in the front seat, in the middle..happened when the guy was changing a heater core…and the passenger seat has a rip. were the seam is sewed. but that can be sewed back…but other than that, it has a brand new water pump, head gaskets, heater core, thermostat, fan switch, water pump pulley, and the entire system has been flushed, and had dye ran through it to check for leaks…has only 115,000 miles on it. and paint looks good. other than the rust..new tires also
yeah, i’m not planning on asking for a rediculous amount.. it runs great..good heat and a/c.. nothings wrong with it now that i put all the money in it of course.. lol

If it runs good, you could probably get a couple hundred for it easily.

Those are fairly minor issues. My guess is that the car is in "very good" condition for its age. However, I wouldn’t expect getting a whole lot for it. Go to a site like edmunds.com, kbb.com or check the NADA blue book (I think you can find it online. If not go to the bank.). That way, you can get an estimate of what the car’s worth, both wholesale and retail.

you can sell anything as long as the price is right.

Your car is already 10 years old and it has more than 100K miles on it. In addition, paint (rust) and interior has visible defect/damage. The only selling point left is it is in mechanically good condition. It won’t be hard to sell it if you price it appropriately. There are many people who will look for cars that run and cheap. You will have to price it in the "rough" category….

It’s all about price.
If you DO have a hard time, you’re asking too much.

Anything that you spend money to fix will decrease the profit you make on the car. Small fixes that don’t cost a lot are ok, but fixing the upholstery or the carpet will cost at least several hundred dollars. I would clean it very well, and sell the car like it is.

People are looking for good used cars in this market. Should sell easily.

You shouldn’t have a hard time selling it, considering that you’re not going to get more than $1,500 for it.
