Which Jeep soft top????? Help!?
Recently bought a 1990 Jeep Wrangler with a hard top. Now that summer’s just around the corner, I wanted to replace it with a soft top but am a little confused as to which one to invest in. Thought about the safari kind since it covers both front and back seats in the jeep instead of the bikini which only covers the front seats. I’d like a full soft top but was looking for something a little cheaper, which I may end up purchasing after all. Need some advice from some experienced Jeep owners since I’m fairly new to all this!! Thanks!!

I Would stay away from the bestop super top.
i purchased one and have hated it since i got it. it doesn’t fit right, the zipper seams have split, and the wind "flopping" is horrible.
since you have a hard top for winter, and if you have a garage, i would get the safari top, and a trail cover. you can see the trail covers at

also, if your going to leave it outside, invest in some decent lockable storage. and since you can steal a jeep by smashing the steering column, i would hide a battery disconnect under the dash, i also think they sell a metal enclosure to protect the exposed area of the column.

I disagree about the Bestop Supertop, I love mine. It has lasted well past the average life of a top and I have never had any problems with it. It doesn’t even leak! The thing is about 7 years old. I also think they have awesome customer service.
Anyways.. If you have a lot of people that will be riding in the back seat, or you want it to stay reasonably dry if it rains I would go with the safari bikini. If you just use the front and don’t really care about covering the back than just go with the regular bikini. Although, if you start with the regular bikini you can add a windjammer and tonneau to it eventually.
I have had both and liked both. Originally I started with just the bikini then got the safari bikini when I had the kids in the back.
