What would be an affordable car to fit 2 booster seats and one regular car seat?
I have a dodge stratus, I’ve got 2 children and one on the way, I’m looking for an affordable, reliable sedan that will fit 2 booster seats and a car seat in the back. I have gone over minivans, and suv’s, but I would rather have a sedan…does anyone have any suggestions for something that would fit my 3 children?

I have a Jetta and I do not recommend that. The back seat is way too small. How about the Ford Fusion. My mom has one and the back seat is roomy. My daughter;s carseat fits back there just fine. Look into one of those.

Well, a minivan would be better for a family that has three children. It is much safer and it has more room. Or, you can consider getting a Honda Accord. The back seat is quite roomy. I’m not quite sure what is considered "affordtable" to you, so you might want to do some research online under "autos".

Well, first off, what matters most is actually the type of booster seat and car seat in question, not the car. Many many cars can fit 3 across depending upon the seats you buy. Sunshine Kids Radian65 is the narrowest car seat made, goes from 5-65lbs, does rear facing to 33lbs and then forward facing to 65lbs. Only problem is they have some compatibility issues – if the car has forward of the bight seatbelts it won’t work. If the buckle stalk comes out of the actual seat bottom instead of the crack where seat back and seat bottom meet, its forward of the bight. Otherwise its a great seat that will keep kids harnessed for a long time, which is important, as kids should stay rear facing as long as possible, and then in a 5 point harness as long as possible.
Fisher Price Safe Voyage booster (found online only, usually, try albeebaby online) is a great choice for fitting 3 across. I would basically just choose a car with a roomy backseat and then choose your seats, unless you already have your seats picked out.
One car I would definitely check out – the new Mazda5. It is a car, but it has 3 rows of seats! Its awesome! Has lots of cubby holes for storage and the doors open like a minivans for easy access to the 3rd row. Check it out.
On this car seat forum I’m a member of, a member has fit 3 across in her 2 door cavalier! I can almost fit 3 across in my 2 door Civic, though its not ideal, too hard for the kids in boosters to get to their buckles. If the Mazda5 doesn’t pan out, look at Accord, Altima, Maxima, Vibe, any full size sedan. Steer clear of tiny cars – even the 4 door Focus is tiny.
