What is wrong with my BMW 36i?
My husband was teaching me to drive the stick shift today, and after lots of stalling out and jerking the car around, it would not stay on. He got into the drivers seat and tried to start the engine. It would start, however, it would suptter and die. We rolled the car back a few feet and noticed a small puddle under the car. It loks like oil. There is also a gas smell when we removed the cover from the oil. He is outside working on it now, but I really want to know how I killed the car and how to fix it. I feel so bad.
Thank you!
Sorry, I meant my BMW 316i, it is a 1994.

my old 316 has just started making a horrific smell it does not seem to come from anywhere and comes then goes usually when car starts or is going slower in low gearany ideas please anyone

My father has the same car and he said to me
just now that you may have the problem of losing the
hydrolic oil, means the oil of the power stering.
It can be also the oil of the brake, also the trasmission oil.
A mechanic should know it faster than us.
