what happened to the REAL trucks?
why do most people who own newer trucks nowadays have horrible features on them?
the first most important and worst of all is the four door short bed type truck. are you trying to haul things in your bed or have legroom four your guys. back in the old days like the 80s, trucks had 8 ft beds, not 4 or 5ft.
next is the toolbox on the back…
my rule is never compromise space in the bed for ANYTHING!!!!!
also what’s with step sides? don’t you losers realize how much space you are losing? Why WHY WHY!!!!???!!!!
also bed flat covers suck. you cant stack things up anymore like you can if it wasn’t there.
campers suck too. how are you supposed to get things like gravel in there? with a shovel? yeah right, you’ll need a bulldozer to dump it in.
and another thing, don’t put rims on your truck. trucks were made for work, not show, but i guess people have forgot that
now to the question… if you have good reasons for that stuff, let me know.. I would also like to see if anyone agrees with me. call me old fashioned, but i would drive my 81 gmc sierra grande single cab long bed over one of today’s girly trucks.
btw MEN DONT NEED LEATHER SEATS THAT ARE HEATED, AND GPS SYSTEMS. not to be sexist, but that’s all womanly things

yh i agree a truck is for work the more room u got the more sstuff you can fit in it the more u get payed (depending on what u do) and a truck dont need rims cars have rims and i would get alloy wheels instead of rims anyway
if i had a nice car i would get leather seats n stuff but not in a truck

Go to a big Ford or Chevy dealer and you will see all kinds of work trucks. They still sell in huge numbers. Its just that non-commercial users have a nice truck to choose from, if that’s what they want.
You can still get trucks with 8 ft beds and std cabs, no problem. But the average person doesn’t need or want that. I like that you can get a truck as basic or as loaded as you want. Why be stuck with only one type of truck to use? Get whatever you want.

Alot of people are buying four door trucks so they don’t have to own a station wagon. The four door trucks can seat six people and have a bed to hold all their equipment for camping, vacation. etc…
Also they put rims on them as a way to self express themselves.
There are plenty of work trucks here in texas as well as nice 4door models. What i don’t understand are these people who drive these giant jacked up trucks with 38in+tires and use them as a daily driver. They never see any dirt unless the rain washes some onto the road and their mpg’s suck.
Also if i am not mistaken since the late 70′s the have made 4door trucks however they just were not as popular as they are today!

You know I can accept a tool box. I mean if the person is actually USING it, not just wanting it for looks, I can understand that one. I can’t understand most of that other crap on there either. Seems like back when men were men you didn’t need a back seat in your truck, because your buddy was bringing HIS truck to help you. That would mean 4 people and way more hauling room.

You can order a crew cab with a long bed for work. You’ll like that, it’s 22 ft long can’t turn around in a 40 acre field.
The fact that other ppl need/want trucks for other reasons doesn’t make them any less manly than you.
Yes many 4 door trucks are used like sedans with a big trunk but hauling a flat of daffodils is no less important than a1/2 load of pea gravel.
All trucks used to be step sides, then the design team wanted the smoother lines of the fleet side or whatever name, there is very little room lost, alto I think it step side rear fenders could be extended to the tailgate line like the smooth sides you like and reduce the parts list by the number of the tail gates needed to be designed
Flat covers ARE a waste for truckers but a really big mural spot for the stylin crowd,
Campers are for ppl who go camping and don’t like vans.
Truck makers don’t care what REAL men want, only what they will pay for.
GPS is a really good devise in urban areas, less so in the country where you turn left at the only left turn in 40 miles, unless you miss the turn. And these days even the dirt roads made by the county are on the GPS maps, your trails are your problem.

Ok let’s say I understand all you are saying but I have another point of view. I’m from Haiti, and in Haiti the roads are not good, for that we need trucks. Also we like to go on street market to buy some stuffs, so we need the back. And finally our family are big so we need space to put people, not all people want to go in the back. For us in Haiti a truck is an all purpose car, we need something robust, beautiful, with space for the family and with space to put some stuffs. I have no problem with the new concept of trucking.

Those are city boys trucks, drive into the country and you will still see good new real trucks.
