What are some different materials used to cover the seats of cars other than leather and your normal cloth?
My 2004 Jeep liberty seats are covered in a material that I wouldn’t exactly call cloth but isn’t leather. It stains very easily and I am going to buy some upholstery cleaner and try to attempt to clean the seats. I’m just not sure what kind of cleaner would be safe for the particular fabric. Does anyone have any knowledge about what kind of material this could potentially be? Maybe Nylon or Rayon or something?

I have had lots of success with a cleaner called Tuff Stuff. You should be able to find it at any auto parts store. I used it to get a melted chocolate bar out of gray cloth seat. Easy to use and has not affected any of my cars, either the cloth seats or colored plastics.
