Confused there with all letters/numbers. Also, power steering went out. Is it necessarily the pump or could it be just hoses are shot or belt? Is his Point A to Point B car and he’s paid cash for it, so want to help if I can. Also, there is no back seat….currently. Do these just snap in or are they bolted to frame when it comes to putting one back in from perhaps junkyard or something? Any help is appreciated!

I was in a car accident today in Michigan, where I live. We were going down a 2-way 4-lane road in the left lane. There is no center turning lane. We had stopped for a car in front of us who was waiting to make a left turn over a double yellow. We were sitting there waiting for this car to turn as we couldn’t make our way over to the right lane to go around due to traffic, & next thing thing you know we were rear-ended by a guy in a truck. My car is a 1994 Dodge Shadow ES. The back end is smashed in really bad up to the back seat and the back window shattered. So it’s just the trunk thats been compressed. It is however no longer legally drivable (no lights, no bumper, no way to fit a new window in, tires are in contact with the smashed metal). The siding is pretty messed up due the impact as you cant open any of the doors. Everyone’s alright, though my sister, who happened to be driving, was taken into the hospital by the ambulance just to make sure there was no damage because she was feeling pain in her neck & back. Shes ok. I just want to know where to go from now legally as far as my losses with the vehicle & expenses put into it.
I’m at no fault. From what I was told, the kid has plpd insurance? I have really no fault insurance (?) Not sure what kind. (Though I should, shouldnt I?) The car is no longer legally drivable. So I’m basically out of a car. The police had it towed and he said it doesn’t cost me anything, but shouldn’t it if I wanted to take it out and have it towed back to my house? Its BS that they didnt let me figure out the towing myself if they are going to charge me for release..
Other than that I’m concerned about getting back the losses from the guy thats responsible..
The vehicle is retailed at no more than 00, but 00 has been put into it in the last year. I also have 2 amps, a subwoofer, and 2 speakers that due to him rear-ending me I may be losing out on (Ill see when I check the damages tomorrow). That stuff is only about 1 1/2 years old and if I replaced it today with the same brand & model it would cost me over 00. But, how crucial is it for me to have receipts for proof of the value since I don’t have them anymore. I bought it all offline and might not be able to recover it. But it was all new when I bought it, and you can easily look up the retail value today, which is the same as when I bought it.
Also, if I can’t get any transportation I will miss school which is currently being fully covered by FAFSA (govt. financial aid), but I’d be losing out on the grants they’ve given me (if I have to take these classes over it will then have to come out of my pocket, and I cant afford any of this right now as it is).
Anyways, please tell me what you think. Sorry for the long explanation, I just want it to be thorough to get more reliable responses to my situation. Thanks.

Cabin is not in the greatest shape, power windows don’t work I think, power steering kinda stuck but that might just be the nearly flat tires… no radio and speaker covers were ripped off the doors. OEM leather seating with heater (have yet to test if that works as well). Is this car hard on the pocket? parts easy to get? etc. Currently have a 2000 Focus that is giving me unbelievable amounts of trouble…

so how much is it for me to put it in storage?
btw i live in san antonio texas
just give me a range of howw much it will be
and do you pay monthy or yearly or a one time fee usually?
okayy i cant afford a garage since i dont have a job since im not oln enough lol…the reason my dad probably doesnt want it in our driveway is because it wont be used rite now since i cant legally use it but im going to convince him because its a free car and he wont have to pay for anything i will and he will have to buy me a car anyway when i do turn 16 so i can get to work and this way he wont be paying for it and its not that long b4 i turn 16

Does Size Matter When it Comes to Custom Rims and Tires?

Yes it does. However, before one delves further into the subject, one has to understand tire codes. Altering a vehicle’s tire sizes, unlike customizing truck floor mats, dashboard covers, and car seat covers, is not something to be taken lightly.

Unfortunately, a lot of people can’t make heads or tails out of the codes labeled on their tires and therefore do not know what “P225/50R16 91S” means. Tire codes are very important if one intends to change his or her vehicles tires. Unlike changing truck floor mats, changing tires without knowledge of what one is doing could bring about adverse affects. Here’s a breakdown of the sample tire codes:

•   The “P” means the tire is meant for passenger vehicles like mini vans cars, small trucks, and SUVs.
•   The “225” is the measurement of the widest point of the tire’s outer sidewall to the widest point of its inner sidewall when installed.
•   The “50” is the percent of the sidewall height relative to the width. (In this example, since the width is 225 millimeters, the sidewall height from the rim to the tread is 112.5mm)
•   The “R” denotes how the internal construction of the tire was fabricated. In this example, “R” means radial.
•   The “16” is the size of the rim.
•   The “91S” is the service description of the tires. The “91” is the number that rates how much load the tires can handle. (The “91” in this example means that the tire can handle 1356 pounds.) The bigger the number, the greater the tire’s capacity.
•   The “S” is the tire’s speed rating. (An “S” speed rating denotes that the tire can operate safely at speeds up to 112 miles per hour. The further down the alphabet, the higher the velocities that are safe for the tire.)

So what does this all mean? Typically, a car that’s made for speed will have a wider width with a low alphabet letter (generally W, Y, or Z) and a low percentage of sidewall for optimal handling and steering capabilities. A passenger vehicle, meanwhile, will have a medium width and a higher percentage of sidewall for a more luxurious style.

Tinkering with tires without knowledge about tire sizes is a dangerous thing to do. Here are some of the reasons:

•   Odometers and speedometers are calibrated based on the height of a vehicle’s tires. Taller tires make speedometers read slower than the actual speed of the vehicle.
•   More recent vehicles have built-in computers that base calculations on the height of a vehicle’s tires. Changing tires could result to a vehicle’s components malfunctioning.
•   Stock suspension systems could suffer additional stress with taller tires, resulting in accelerated wear, tear, and/or failure. If one makes substantial changes in tire height, one should upgrade and bolster the vehicle’s stock suspension.

Below is a list of different tire sizes and what vehicle classes should use them.

I spent the weekend working on my truck, new temp and ammeter, installed my cd player, buckets seats on custom built mount, changed the oil and replaced a u-joint. after i was all done, my dad and i ran into town, on the way in, we noticed the temp gauge was not coming up, i had tested it in the garage and it worked fine. we thought this was rather odd, the heater has always worked really well in this truck. my dad suggested i slowed down and ran in 2nd gear for awhile and work the engine ( 4-speed). i down shifted to 3rd and slowed down and then went for 2nd, i was apparently going a lil faster then i thought and barked the tires and over revved the engine, i quickly clutched and popped it back into 3rd, with in the few seconds, the truck died. i tried to restart it both with the starter and by bump starting it. we ended up dragging the truck home and did the following:
replaced ignition module with known good-no start

checked coil ( 2 plug, 4 wire) and found continuity between all 4 pins (is this right?)

checked ammeter wiring ( i tapped into the lead off the battery up to the distribution block on the fire wall) found the connector i had installed at the distribution block was loose, but i still had full cab power.

i retrieved trouble codes manually ( i messed up the first time and jumped the top 2 pins on the left, i corrected myself and only got code 12 i left it run for some time to make sure. this bothers me as i have owned this truck for a year now and it has always had a check engine light on. it would go off and come on all the time, i ignored it because the truck ran fine.

it has no spark, the fuel pump runs, we did not crack a line to check for pressure, but i replaced the pump last spring. however we never see fuel spray while cranking, should we?

we also noticed the AIC was noisy and seems to run constantly until you try to start. this seems odds. i don;t know a lot about the tbi system i am learning as i go. i prefer points or HEI, i need help on this, this is my "good" truck, for now i have to drive smokey, the oil belching and spewing 74′ with the leaking rear pinon, please help.
