There is rodent poop in my car; how can I tell if they are still there/have caused internal damage to my car?

PLEASE READ:
This car is a 1974 Pontiac Grand Am. I keep it in a garage for the majority of the year. The weather is usually too sucky to take it out. I don’t run it often. I have the windows/roof closed and the car covered with a car cover when it is in storage (AKA: a garage I pay for). When I took it out to drive this summer, there were pooplets on the floor mats and seats. I set a trap on the floor of the car (where I found the poop) for a little under a week, but nothing. There was no food/garbage in the car while it was in storage.
The car does NOT smell like rodents, pee/poop, or dead animals, so I figure they left, but where should I first look to be sure?
Also, how should I go about checking the wiring and other under-the-hood components for damage?

DO NOT JUST TELL ME TO CLEAN/GET RID OF THE CAR.

Does anyone know anything about used car lemon laws in California?

I bought a used 2006 Pontiac G6 in 2007. The car seemed to have been in great condition. Shortly after the brakes went bad. I got them replaced. Again, steering was shaking and the brakes seemed bad. I changed the brakes regularly. I recently got my rodors turned, which seemed to help for about a week. I opened my back door to put my niece in her carseat and then opened the front door to put my purse in my seat…. my side panel completely ripped off the rear door. I ran a carfax and found that the vehicle had been in an accident. This was never disclosed to me at the time of purchase. I got a copy of the accident report from the police department. It said the accident was a 3 and their ratings are from 1 being the least, 5 being the worst. The accident said LSD-3, which is left side distributed… which is where my panel ripped off. I took it to the manufacture dealership and they replaced my panel on the back door, but not the front one. I started having more and more issues with the shaking of the steering wheel and pumping of the brakes. It did not matter how fast, or slow… the steering shakes bad. The car also pulls to the right really bad… and my tires go bad quickly. I took it to the dealership I purchased it from and talked to the General Manager, who said he had his legal department look into it. They did nothing. Said they would fix my car, did not fix my car. Said that his parts and repair manager fully inspected my vehicle and that he saw it had been in another accident: Rear ended. He showed me where the rear spoiler and bumper had been replaced with after market screws and a slightly different paint color and basically accused me of having been the one to wreck the car. I have never wrecked this car. This is exactly how I bought the car off of their lot. He said it would be their word against mine and that they would never put a car that looked like that on their lot so that it would basically be a waste of time to do anything about it. Is this true? I feel like I have a case against them. I believe the brakes are bad because of the accident that happened before I owned the car. There is paint on the trunk liner where they didn’t cover with plastic when they did the overspray and the screws are chrome, they didn’t paint over them. Can anyone who has been in a similar situation please help me out, or give me some advice? Thank you!!!

Will my car insurance go up?…It was not my fault!?

Okay here is the deal…

I just got a 2007 Pontiac G6 about a week and ahalf ago. This sunday I was getting ready to go to the store when I jumped in to my car I notice my two side mirrors were missing. Now why would any one steal that?????

My car has leather seat, a system, in other words, everythging!
Why the side mirrors.

Anyways I filed a police report, but I’m not sure if I want my insuance comp. to pay for it because I think it might go up. Maybe not right away but later on, or next year. I have Fred Loyal Full Cover.

What do you think?

What do you think?

I am purchasing a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. The price of the car 12 ,290. They are taking off 200 b/c it is an internet sale, plus the value for my trade in so all together it is going to be about ,000. The car is in great running condition. There is a rock ship taken out of the windshield which they are going to fix for me, and it has brand new tires that need to be sealed and they are doing that too. The only thing is that it is used and there is a minor dent in the rear passanger side door that they cant fix but are getting me an estimate for. The car has about 40,000 miles on it heated seats all power. Is this a good deal? And if they cant get a good estimate does anyone have suggestions for removing a dent, or covering it up? You cannot really see it unless you are looking for it, so I guess that it is not that major. Thanks.

which of these cars is the best deal for the money?

Changing ’96 Bonneville Shifter and Pedals?

Hi, I have a 1996 Pontiac Bonneville, automatic.I want to change the gas and brake pedals, or covers rather.

Will any pedals I get at stores such as pep boys or auto zone work? I jut have to unscrew the bolts behind the pedals and put on the new ones, not difficult right?

And also I’ve been thinking about maybe changing the shifter to a new one since mine is old. How hard is it to change it? (Mine is on a center console between the front seats)

Could anyone provide me with links to a site that shows how to change shifters and/or pedals? I did a search on Google but didn’t see one on the first dozen or so pages. I put in a CD player with the help of a friend and I know some basic car maintenance so if I could find a guide I’m sure I could do it myself. Thanks.

Bonus question: is there any website or store (other than the mechanics) that I can order Pontiac parts from? Like speaker covers, AC vents, you know all those parts of a car that sometimes break or fall off with time?

Please Help! 1993 Grand Am The rear speaker Removal & Replacment?

I have A 1993 Grand Am & The rear speakers are bad And need to be removed & replaced but it cannot be done from the trunk area like most cars, so I then went to back seat to remove them from the inside, But I ran into A problem that I dont have the answer to there is A panel that sits on top of the speakers the one directly infront of the rear window & covers the two speakers it seems impossable to remove without taking out the whole back seat, rear window side panels, the seat belt restrants & who knows what else, somthing tells me GM wouldn’t require all this just to replace two bad speakers, Can sombody please help me with this by providing me with detailed instructions on how to replace two 6×9 rear speakers on A 1993 Pontiac Grand Am without taking out the whole rear rear seat & ruining my car in the process. has anybody had to replace these rear speakers in this car if so how did you accomplish this because I cant figure it out? Thank you for any help you can provide me.

Tuff Stuff….Car Cleaner…AMAZING!!!!?

I recently brought a used car from a dealership. He just got it in there that day I went car shopping and had no time to clean it yet. It was a wreck inside. Someone threw up all in it and the carpet and roof had stains everywhere. It was a 03 Pontiac Vibe w/ sunroof. The outside looked fantastic. It only had 65,000 miles on it. I knew with a little cleaning it would be a great car. (Vibe is a Toyota Matrix with another name. i know this from experience.)

This is a really good type of car so I knew the dealer guy, who admitted he just won it from auction for 00, would try and rip me off. he set the price at 00. I made him come down on the price for a window the needed fixing( Wont go up or down, luckily it was just unplugged and no power was going to the motor.) He also took off some money for ti not being clean. He told me he didn’t know what to do with the stains.

I walked away that day with a good car for 00.

I thought I knew of a product that would clean the stains. I went to Wal-Mart and brought 2 cans of Oxy Clean car cleaner….FAIL!!!!!

So, I went back and seen this stuff called Tuff Stuff. It was way cheaper than the other stuff so I was doubtful. I purchased 2 cans and went home. I first too a vac to the carpet ad roof. I then got me a bucket of hot water and a cheap dish scrubber from the dollar store. I did as the can said and sprayed it on the roof. I did this by sections. WOW!! Right before my eyes it was lifting the stains and dirt away. I would let it sit in the stain for 1 minute, then I took the scrubber and scrubbed the roof lightly. I divided it into sections. Wow the roof looked brand new after I was done. It took 2 treatments for the floor.

The car looks brand new inside. I also took it t get serviced and it was in great shape.

What a steal. The dealer knows it to. after I took in the last payment of 0 he looked at the car and said wow omg. He was shocked the inside looked so great.

I pimped it out a bit with new rims and awesome car seat covers and stuff.

My question is have you guys ever used this stuff?

Why do they not have a TV commercial for this awesome product?

How amazing was it?

Anyone got any good stories on cars they got for cheap or at a steal?

How to “theme” my car for Cheap?

I have a chrome black 1998 Pontiac. I want to have the "Dark Knight" Theme (Why so Serious?) for cheap. I have a sticker on the back of my car that says why so serious. What else could I do to enhance the look for decent $$$? I only have about 0 to spend right now. Give me some ideas. Best answer=5 pts.

Some Ideas I had already- Floor mats, Steering Wheel Cover, Windshield Wipers, Seat covers, and a Shift Knob replacement.

I got a new car! Quick question =]?

I just bought a car (2001 Pontiac Sunfire, used) and the roof of the car is really dirty (has like dirt spots or something on the upholstery) and then on the backseat it has some weird stain…I used something today for it…but it didn’t work, it helped a little on the top, but that’s all. Can you recomend me something really good that will get it out? Oh, also on the dash board it’s a little weird color on it…like orange…I think it’s from the sun, but I was just wondering if you would know something that could get it out. Oh, and last question I promise =] I want some seat covers for it and I was wondering if I could buy some for the back seats..I looked at Autozone and Walmart, but I didn’t see any that I think were for the backseat. I’ll love you forever and ever if you answer any of these questions.
thanks mike =]
