I’m shaking. We checked our answering machine today and there were two calls from a woman who said she was with County Children and Youth. One was for me and one was for my husband. She said something about having trouble finding our residence! Why would CPS be coming? We live in an old house which is kind of dusty, but it’s clean. All the rooms we use are heated with natural gas except the bathroom which has an electric heater. We have a 6 week old baby who is clean and very healthy. He always goes to his doctor’s appointments and I have taken him a few times when I thought something was wrong (turned out nothing was). We always have formula in the fridge for supplementing and plenty of clean bottles. My son never cries for more than 2 seconds before someone picks him up and attends to his needs. We have friends over sometimes, but my husband, I, or our close friend Kelly who has 3 children of her own is ALWAYS with him in the nursery. We have 4 cats but they are clean, their litter boxes are in a separate part of the kitchen and no oder can ever be detected. They don’t do anything to the baby except stare at him with mild interest. They have all their shots and they are indoor cats anyway. My husband works steadily and we are not on any assistance. I am off work right now because I just had the baby, but I have plans to return and I take online classes in the meantime. We never leave the baby alone except to run to the bathroom which is adjacent to the nursery. If we shower, he comes in with us in his bouncy seat where he naps. One time my cell phone was broken and I had to tell my husband something at 10 o’clock at night, so I put the sleeping baby in his stroller and ran over to my husband’s work (one block away) to give him the message. I was out for maybe 5 minutes. The baby never woke up.

The only thing which I can figure would be wrong with me is that I owe money on some medical bills for myself. Can CPS be called because of that? Can they actually take my son away from me? He is my whole life! I’m so scared. Can anyone give me some definite information? I don’t want "I think" I want "I know!"

I am in the US in Pennsylvania. And yes, my husband and I both returned the woman’s calls at once but she was out of the office for the day and it’s a Friday so we won’t hear back from her till at least Monday. Please help!
No no, some of you misunderstood! I didn’t leave the baby alone in the house, I would never do that. I took him with me in the stroller. But it was 10 o’clock at night and my husband works in a restaurant so I thought maybe someone thought I shouldn’t have him out that late or something.

I am getting ready to put this house on the market for what is a great price in this neighborhood. We are trying to downsize and are tired of being landlords. We have just installed a new water pump for the well, a new water heater, will possibly be putting in new HVAC. The exterior will be repainted a little darker grey, with white trim and black shutters. The carpet is relatively new and is high end. There is newer tile in the kitchen and both bathrooms. New faucets, toilet seats, etc.

I am looking for suggestions to make this home stand out, without putting a ton of money into it. I mean, it is really a good deal already!! Please give honest feedback! Thanks!

I have been getting 00 a month for a rental for the past several years. I have MANY people interested at that price. Several people even want to do a lease-to-own. If I had a buyer, I would be happy to pass their info on.

had a storm come through last week and drop a tree on my truck
2002 ford f150 supercrew, all the extras…
ACV came back as 590
myself and the adjuster assumed it’d be totaled at first glance, the tree didnt hit the hood/engine, but did significant body damage. cab, both drive side doors, back bench seat, bed, bed cover, bed liner are all destroyed.
a few days later, when receiving the ACV after the adjuster came out, hes talking about getting it repaired. i asked what his estimates were, and hes alotting 00 to repair costs.
8000/12590 = 63.5% repair cost to value
this is based on his initial estimate, the truck is still sitting at my place waiting to be towed. i was leaning more towards having the truck totaled as it will never be the same as before the storm.

now the next step is to have it taken to a shop of my choosing to get it inspected further. find all the damage, reasess the numbers. of course the insurance place has their own contractual shops that they recommend, my questions are as follows:

-am i better off finding an independent shop to inspect and possibly do the repair work?
an independent shop will have market rates for labor and part costs. im guessing the insurance co will find the replacement body peices and let the shop do the work. an independent shop is not backed by the insurance co so time is a factor, and there may be no warranty on work done.

-if i take it to the insurance co recommended place, they have discounted rates that may get it repaired and saving the insurance co some money, but im left with a truck thats going to have ongoing problems.

-i want this thing totaled, should i send it to an independent place?
-if i take it to the recommended place and they deem it repairable, can i negotiate the ACV with the adjuster? instead of them paying out 12590, say knock off 1500 and give me 11090, they keep the truck…
-or say i take a bunch of stuff off the truck to devalue it when they haul it away…drop the total ACV, so the repair % will be higher.

Actually yes, my husband and I did have a week of fighting recently. But we’re getting counseling now. And for the guy who said they will take my son – on what grounds? I mean, they have to have a reason. No one is a perfect parent. This is ridiculous.
In the message the lady said it "wasn’t a big deal." Should that make me feel any better?

Hi, I have a 93 Buick Park Avenue. When the air conditioner is running the cold air will not come out of the proper vents. It comes out of the ones in the back seat and the ones on the top and bottom of the dash (where the hot air comes out when the heater is running). The air works fine (well as fine as it can work in the 115 degree heat) but since it blows up against the window it’s immediately killed by the hot air. If you’ve run across this please let me know the solution, or even if there is a place online that I can ask. I dont have the money to just take it into the shop to get it looked at, but if I knew what it could be, then I would be able to get a fair appraisal of the cost.
Gary, about a year ago the battery on the car died nearly all the way. All of the relays kept firing, we could actually hear them going off. Could it be a blown relay?

his friend that moved here from Pennsylvania hes 22 and works for cody
hes also our roommate
and Cody’s "slave" we call him

okay so this morning, i needed gas in my jeep because i was going to go walk with my grandma 30 miles away from where i live, okay he bitched about how i always ask him to do things for me this morning, and he asked his friend to go get me the money from his bank.. his friend (our slave) said "okay should i go get some gas?" and i said "yes that would be great" but cody said "NO WE HAVE TO LEAVE I DON’T WANT TO BE HERE ALL DAY WE GOT TO WORK" so he said "fine" and left… All cody does all day is sit in his truck and drop our slave off at a neighborhood while he knocks doors and gets cody to come up there and sells roofs, so really he could wait an extra 10 min its not like he has to be there at a certain time… so anyways slave left and got me money and i simply stated the fact how hard it is paying for gas with a 4 month old.. you’d have to take her out go pay then u know the whole car seat thing and how it would be awesome if slave got me gas to… so cody yelled at me and made a huge deal on how im annoying and how i don’t have what it takes to be with him and how im not a woman, then he looked at my 4 month old daughter and told her "mommy is childish" and how i never do anything on my own? blah blah blah how im not good enough for him.. and how i better shut the F up b4 i get hurt…. i never once cussed at him during this "argument" never raised my voice… never once…

he thinks i like owe him something? im a woman and how im supposed to cater to him and pick up after him and cook dinner grocery shop take care of our daughter with no help because he brings home the money and recently he just told me i needed to do all that and go to work and he doesn’t want to help pay for child care…
& also the other day i had went to ross cz our baby needed some clothes cz all hers doesn’t fit her anymore. and i accidentally went .96 over and made us "in the negative" so i called him and apologized and he just screamed at me in front of his friend on how im immature and childish and he cant believe i had done this and how hes going to rip my debit card up in a million… then i called the bank.. come to find out we were already in the negative because HE bought gas, food..etc for him and his friend while at work.. so it wasn’t even my fault.. then he covered it up by "well i didn’t do that knowingly, and you did so your immature and irresponsible?"

I don’t know what to do i really have no family and no where to go if i were to leave him he has me convinced that maybe this is all me? and im the one with the nagging problem? i mean i know i am a little Nagy but we live with his mother, sister, me, daughter, him, and his friend.. in a 2 bedroom apartment… because he wanted me to live there cz we thought he was getting deployed… but were about to move into an apartment with me him and his friend

I have a 2002 Mit. Galant. The AC blows cold air well but the heat dosen’t come on at all. I have replaced the thermerstat. But that didnt solve the problem. Other ppl are telling me that it might be the AC & Heater doors not opening and closing but when i turn it over to heat you can hear the sound of the doors turning..but still it blows cold air and still no heat. This has been happning for about a year and the cold season is coming and I can not go another winter without heat. & i am also having a problem with the AC not draining. It drains into the floor board of the passenger seat. I took it to a mitsubishi reapir shop but they told me it would be 0-0 to completly clean the air conditioner and all beacuse they would have to take the dash board off.. also they told me that my year model galant was made to were the water would come down and drip on a fram and then drain on the ground. But instead the water just drains off into the passenger seat side of the floor. What all do i need to do to avoid spending 0 to get the AC to drain right and to fix it were i will have heat… My boyfriend and his friend guy are going to fix it beacuse we don not want to spend all that money and his friend guy is good with cars because he has fixed my car a couple of times. any help with anything or suggestions please let me know. We live in rural montana and are thinking of going on a 60 mile round trip visit to swim in a pool. Problem is: 1. We would have to use some rent money on gasoline, 2. the vehicle seats 3 and their are 4 of us, 3. the heater core is out on the truck so it may break down. We could borrow a car from a friend but we don’t have any. Their is no public transportation. It is about 100 degrees outside, and we would swim in a pool fed by hot springs. Would this be a good idea? I think not, by my girfriend thinks it would be a good idea even though we would be jepordazing our children, our transportation and spend rent money to swim. Please answer and be as cruel as you can;)

i just started having this problem i had a friend using the cell phone facing it towards the front seat dialing in numbers then my heater stopped an shut down after i shut it off then it started again i already disconnected the plus cable just in case it was the computer but it still does it off and on anyone know whats going on no money to fix a big problem

To make the story shorter this is what happen…

It was on the 22nd of this month when my girlfriend was in a rush to get something she had forgotten at a restaurant, since she was on a rush she disregard the stop sign. An suv was driving maybe at 40mph (free) when she impact with it at 65 mph. I don’t remember if I had my seat-belt on. After an hour a cop came over and told me and my girlfriend and the other guy from the suv if we needed an ambulance. We all said no. At that moment I just felt pain in my right ear, and itchiness in my right side ribs. 5 hours later I notice a big lump in by back between my neck and shoulder. its been disappearing by now. Ive been taking painkiller and I feel great but I try a day with out them and I just feel a bit of pain in my back, my ear still hurts well the external part. My grandmother told me to not worry about the money nor she being my girlfriend and for me to report her insurance to pay for me and that I must go with a doctor to x ray my back and check my nerves and all possible things because that could bring serious problem to me in the future, my grandma told me that the insurance should cover that but I don’t know. So I am planning to comment that with my girlfriend so we both go together with a doctor and check both of us because her chest hurt as hell too. The problem is that the insurance is under his dads name an he only lend it to her that day, the truck was borrowed. I dont know if the insurance will cover, or what legal actions I must take, I mean I dont have the courage because she is me girlfriend but its her fault. Please advide me what should I do? Thanks!
