Is it safe to put a baby car seat in a Jeep TJ?

Hello eveyone! I’m just wondering if anybody can help me out. I am currently 5 months pregnant and I’m expecting my baby in July. I have a 1997 Jeep TJ and was wondering if anyone knows it is a safe vehicle to drive with a small rear facing infant car seat? The reason I ask is that the back seat of a Jeep Wrangler is a little more narrow then that of a car, also the back seats sit so high up that there is no metal protecting the baby since the window starts right about where the seat is… Anyways if someone knows anything about this or knows where I could find the info I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
I woulnd’t take the roof off, and I have a fiber glass hard top on it right now.

When I was 13 (I’m 18 now), I was asleep in my bed and dreaming about my grandfather.
I was riding in the passenger seat of my grandfather’s white Jeep Wrangler, and I thought that it was my grandfather driving, but I was wrong. Because we stopped at a stop sign in my hometown’s small downtown area, and my grandfather was crossing the crosswalk wearing his usual purple jacket that he ALWAYS wore. And when he passed in front of my side of the jeep, he stopped and looked at me, gave me his sweet warm smile he always gave me, and mouthed the words "I love you".
When I woke up that morning, my mother was crying. And when I asked what was wrong, she told me the news that my grandfather had passed away. I told her about the dream I had, and only cried some more, and I couldn’t console her. I cried as well, I mourned forever because I was extremely close with him. Still am, even though he’s gone.

My question is, did that dream somehow hint that I’m slightly psychic? It’s not that I can summon my powers at any time I want, but I do get these dreams sometimes. Like I dream about my house covered in darkness, and then the day that I wake up, later that night there’s a power outage that lasts until 3 in the morning…

after market parts for 2005 xterra… sigh?

I’m getting all sorts of cool after market things for my husband for his Mazda RX8 that I bought him.
But now I’m getting jealous. I want newthings for my ’05 xterra. I have touch nav and a great system in it, but it came with that. I have a custom box for the 10" sub I just replaced.

I used to have a jeep wrangler and I almost want that back so I can do the whole off-road package, but I LOVE my xterra.

Any suggestions?

I already have water proof xterra brand front seat covers, touch screen nav, 2 amps, and 10" sub with custom box

….also, is there a special forum site for xterra owners? I know of rx8club.com for mazda rx8 owners, but what about xterras?
I’m not going to get rims because I’m getting stationed in Alaska soon…
maybe I could get off road tires? but the gas prices today are obnoxious and it already costs to fill up

Which Jeep soft top????? Help!?

Recently bought a 1990 Jeep Wrangler with a hard top. Now that summer’s just around the corner, I wanted to replace it with a soft top but am a little confused as to which one to invest in. Thought about the safari kind since it covers both front and back seats in the jeep instead of the bikini which only covers the front seats. I’d like a full soft top but was looking for something a little cheaper, which I may end up purchasing after all. Need some advice from some experienced Jeep owners since I’m fairly new to all this!! Thanks!!

Good buy on 1999 Jeep Wrangler?

I am getting ready to sign the paperwork on a 1999 Jeep wrangler, just wanted to see if anyone thinks this is a bad idea.

1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport
4.0
6 cyl
66700 miles, 5 speed, 4 wheel drive
Just had transmission replaced
Has soft top and half doors
No visible rust spots, except for on undercarriage.
Towing package, cd player, Sound system in roll-bar, new windshield wipers, relatively new tires. 75% of brakes left.

The drivers side seat has a few cracks in the vinyl but I’ll be getting a cover for it.

It is ,500.

I personally love manual tranny, and I will be towing a yamaha jet-ski with it.

2 months ago my dad bought a red 2000 softop jeep wrangler, witch i love btw, my popa (dads dad) likes it to, so now he is looking for him one to, to day he found a 1998 black jeep wrangler, 6cyl 5speed it has a hardtop, a 4 inch lift kit and blackwheels, and brand new 33 inch tires, and does not leak oil, its a pretty good looking jeep but you can tell its been in the woods, scratches, missing bumber caps, minor dent, the factory saddle dash has been painted black, with slightly ripped tan cloth seats, missing various interior pieces, fog lights dont work, etc. the guy said he"d take 00. next the same guy has another wrangler, the year is between 1999 and 2003 idk the right one, its baby blue has a soft top 6cyl auto trans,no lift kit, no fog lights, has a pretty good interior, no paint exept for factory, only one small rip in the vinal seatts. idk if it leaks oil, small, very small rust on a couple of bolts, for 00, now my dad has found another jeep. its a 2002 wrangler sahara, its marroon with a tan hardtop 6cyl auto trans, brand new all terrain tires factory jeep working foglights, no lift, very nice interior, no rips at all, rear seat cup holders bug guard for hood, mup flaps, sahara logo spare tire cover, no leaks and comes included with a new soft top, very nice jeep but a little pricey at 000. then my dad said if popa didnt want the maroon jeep than dad would by the maroon jeep and let popa have his jeep he has now for 00, (which is what my dad has in the jeep) its a pretty nice jeep, its a 2000 model wrangler chili pepper red, with a softop and bikini top, 6cyl auto trans, no lift kit and 31 inch mud king tires, crome front and rear bumper, working fog lights, new fender flairs, just got it back from the shop from doing maintinence, new brakes, bushings, and thermostat. dosent leak oil, and the guy that owned before my dad had the carpet took out when it was new so when my dad put the carpet back in, it was brand new. saddle dash and vinal seats, nice jeep,

so my question is which jeep do yu think my popa should get,

the black one

the baby blue one

the maroon one

or the chili pepper red one

pay back on my son’s JEEP wrangler?

long story short I took the ranger off my son and gave him a white jeep wrangler with 1/2 inch kit fog lights, 32 inch tires, and a tow bar. he borrowed my 2003 ford f150 on sunday because i wasn’t felling good. he went out with buddies and got me some mucinex and tea. then on monday
I saw they put on a sticker that says beer is for rednecks.
I want to put a sticker on his jeep that says jeeps are for girls but i was originally gona give him a regular black jeep tj but it had pink removable seat cover. he kept sayin aw jeeps are for girls i’m nit drivin that so i gave him the white jeep. he keeps it dirty for image. I think he won’t notice it and he’ll probably take it to school like that. I don’t think they put it on as a joke but because they tought I would like it. So should i do the prank or just tell him i took it off because simply bumper stickers on cars it irrates me and i never saw meaning on but i do like a FEW on windows. just let me know what you would do

I really need upgrades and tips for my 97 Jeep Wrangler TJ. Please Help!?

I’m am 17 and just did football all summer for my brother in laws’ 97 jeep wrangler. I’ve learned to drive it stick shift and it runs okay. I’ve saved up a little money to fix it up and upgrade its looks. Right now it has no air conditioning, no top, no windows, maxes at around 70 mph, torn seats, a cracked windshield, and seems to swallow gas with little power output. I live in extremely hot weather and I need this car even if I am only going to keep it for a couple years depending on how it feels later on.

I don’t have much money (around 0) so any tips on where to get cheap, good quality products (ebay seat covers were an epic fail) would help me greatly. Also any tips to help it run better or for me to drive it better are accepted. First off, I really need some kind of top that I can get for around 0. I have half doors so I could use some windows too. Any Jeep knowledge you can share is appreciated. I would like it to drive and look nice but now its kind of lacking in both areas. PLEASE HELP

Last, if anyone has a favorite site where they get good jeep products, please post.

Last year I bought my own used 05 Jeep Wrangler and now that i’m making more money i really want to put a lot of detail into my baby. I want to get seat covers, window extensions, mirror placements, fog lughts, pulleys and basically make it an off roading monster but i dont know where to start.
