Give Your Jeep a Long Lasting Life With Protective Seat Covers and Soft Tops

Give Your Jeep a Long Lasting Life With Protective Seat Covers and Soft Tops

Your Jeep was designed for fun – summer trips to the beach, off-roading with the top off, and camping in the outback to name just a few. But the open-air design leaves your cockpit exposed to elements that can quickly fade and ruin your interior. But with seat covers and the protection afforded by soft tops, you can quickly and affordably safeguard your interior from damage. Here’s how. Even on a hazy day, the sun can bleach and erode your upholstery, eventually causing it to split and fray. But with a set of custom seat covers, like a leather seat cover, you can easily maintain the original appearance of your interior while adding some personal style that improves your Jeep’s overall appearance. Seat covers pull on and off in seconds, with no tools required, and go through the washing machine as easily as your favorite pair of cargo shorts when soiled. Custom seat covers are designed for your specific make, model and year and available for all seats and rows in your Jeep. Plus, they’re crafted from heavy-duty materials for durability and comfort, befitting one of the first true sport utility vehicles. Many seat covers even come pre-treated with stain and liquid repellents for an extra layer of protection. With a seat cover protecting your seats, it’s time to think about the rest of your interior. Your Jeep’s hard top is great for winter months, but it’s a drag when the sun comes out. A Jeep Wrangler soft top is far more convenient for trips to the beach and other summer outings. It protects you from the glare of the sun and shelters you from unexpected showers that would otherwise have soaked both your interior and all your gear. A Jeep soft top is literally a snap to put on or take off, with quick-release fasteners that detach and reattach in a fraction of the time it takes to mess around with a standard hard top Jeep cover. A Jeep Wrangler soft top is constructed from heavy-duty, vinyl-coated polyester and cotton, reinforced in heavy-pull areas with marine-grade thread, and then sealed with heat-seal tape. This durable yet breathable material includes UV-treated mesh that lets the fresh air in while keeping harmful UV rays and other destructive elements out. The high performance of the mesh is due to a special weave that provides both strength and durability. Plus, soft tops are available in a wide array of colors, easily matching any finish or sense of style, and come in full-top or brief styles.

Is it safe to put a baby car seat in a Jeep TJ?

Hello eveyone! I’m just wondering if anybody can help me out. I am currently 5 months pregnant and I’m expecting my baby in July. I have a 1997 Jeep TJ and was wondering if anyone knows it is a safe vehicle to drive with a small rear facing infant car seat? The reason I ask is that the back seat of a Jeep Wrangler is a little more narrow then that of a car, also the back seats sit so high up that there is no metal protecting the baby since the window starts right about where the seat is… Anyways if someone knows anything about this or knows where I could find the info I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
I woulnd’t take the roof off, and I have a fiber glass hard top on it right now.

Do I pay for the repairs and then sue my mechanic, or make him pay for the repairs?

My jeep liberty was in a car accident a year ago. We had it repaired by our mechanic. It started giving us problems a few months later and we took it back to him. He said we needed to pay more money to get it fixed. We were starting to think something was up so we took it for a second opinion. We found that he did not replace half the parts he was supposed to and used zip ties instead of hose clamps, dry wall screws instead of automotive screws, etc. I had the new mechanic look at the original estimate and he determined that there was about ,000 worth of repairs. What I would like to know is if I need to pay for the damages before I take him to court or can I sue him for the money for the repairs? I don’t have an extra 00 laying around so it would be difficult to pay up front. I already talked to my insurance and they already covered a replacement wiring harness (which was severed and electrical taped back together), and reset the seats so the air bags would work (he broke the light bulbs out of the panel, which would have alerted me they did not work), and the 30 days of rental coverage. They will not cover any more issues. Any help?
So you are saying I go to the police department and file a report on the mechanic? Wouldn’t the insurance go after him since he obviously frauded them? Can you give me more info? I’ve never done this before…

Opinions on this paragraph of a story?

My friend likes to write but won’t let anyone read her things to get feedback. So I took a little paragraph from her story and I was hoping somebody will give their opinions on it? Please it’ll help a lot. Be as mean as you like :P

“’You have to show him the wallet! It’s all we have!” I searched frantically for the beat up leather wallet but couldn’t find it. Dean must have checked the rear-view mirror and saw the cop get out of the car because he started to help too. I kept looking but it was impossible to find it in the mess of papers that covered Dean’s car.
“You find the wallet I’ll stall him.” Dean said while opening the Jeep’s door. Some of the papers blew out in the breeze. I searched under the seats while the door shut leaving the papers still. I moved the papers around glancing at them as I did.
“How’s it going officer?” I heard Dean say through the cracked window. I picked up a half burnt “Twilight” book and the wallet fell out from it. Twilight dropped from my fingers and I fumbled over to the driver’s seat.
“Your taillight is out. Did you realize that son? Your driving has been reckless for about three miles now, let me see your license.” The officer barked at Dean while adjusting his sunglasses. The officer was pudgy to say the least and had a thick brown mustache. He wore a hat that shaded half his face and sunglasses that reflected a person’s soul. Dean just shifted uncomfortably and looked back at me. I nodded and got out of the car.
“Here you go sir. Sorry Dean’s kind of stupid when it comes to keeping track of things.” I said and handed the wallet to the officer. One car passed us and spit dust in the air. The dust put everyone in a coughing fit.
“Dean huh?” The officer coughed through all the dust. A small gust of wind blew all the dust away leaving two cops pointing their guns at us. Dean moved closer to me and I raised my hands. “This license says your name is Al Sherman. Al Sherman is a convicted killer who escaped two days ago. Put your hands in the air!” The officer spit and slowly moved closer to us.
“How much trouble can I get in for punching a cop?” Dean whispered in my ear while slowly moving closer to the car.
“Six months in jail? I think why?” Dean began kicking up dust like crazy. My eyes started to water and I couldn’t breathe. I heard Dean’s fist meet the officers face. A loud thud rang through the air which meant the officer had been knocked on conscious.
“Get in the car!” Dean said as he opened the door. I climbed in and then he did. He shut the door and put a gun on his lap. A gun, the officer’s gun. We we’re screwed. The cops think Dean’s a convicted now escaped killer. That makes me a partner in the whole thing. We we’re going to jail for life. We would get the electric chair for sure. Dean revved the engine and then we were flying down the road.
“Is there anything else you want to do? Actually kill someone with this stolen gun? Or maybe we can rob a bank! Or impersonate the President?” I yelled at him with tears in my eyes. I just want to go home. I want my old life back before I ever met Dean.
“I’m pretty sure we couldn’t pull off being Barack Obama. No we’re not doing anything like that. We’re just going to find the convict and get my wallet back. Then I’ll take you home okay? It’ll be easy! Plus those cops looked dumb as f*** so we don’t have to worry about anything.” Dean said as he turned the radio on. The song “Bad Boys” blasting through the speakers. Dean thought I was the crazy one?

HELP! Weird Dreams I've had lately?

I had this dream about two days ago about me being ®aped, this happens at the end. First these guys like kidnapped me while I was in my Jeep and one of them was one of my ex friends named joel. okay so im like in the back seat and joel is next to me and i’m like i can’t believe your like this and stuff like that. so then they take me to a location that I dreamt of before its like this abandoned park that has a old baseball field but pretty much covered with grass since nobody plays there anymore. And i am laying down in the grass and i stand up and one of the guys walks up to me and says "lets go" which implies that they are gonna do that horrible thing to me, and the rest of the guys come and we walk. I never see them do it to me so i’m not sure if they actually did it, but at the end I am being raped by that guy David Anders, the guy who plays Adam Monroe on the hit tv series Heroes so then like before i see this happening, the setup all of the sudden turns into a beach and the park is gone, its like two different stories heres a pic of him as Adam http://heroeswiki.com/Image:AdamMonroe.jpg

so then we are on top of a small hill and you can see footprints in the sand that leads to where we are and then I see that he is on top of me, then i hear this ripping sound and he doesn’t stop, the end.

What does this really mean?? because i think this guy (david) is really cute.

Thank you

The 4.0L Jeep Wrangler Engine

The 4.0L Jeep Wrangler Engine

The 4.0L Jeep Wrangler engine had a fantastic horsepower compared to it’s predecessors and peers. The 6-cylinder Jeep Wrangler engine offered excellent acceleration and torque for an engine of it’s size. The engine was engineered by American Motors Corporation (AMC), and was based on the Typhoon Six which was introduced in 1964. The 4.0L Jeep Wrangler engine featured a shallow-skirt cast-iron block with uniformly spread out cylinder bores, a seven-main-bearing crankshaft, loop-flow combustion chambers, and in-line valves. The 6 cylinder engine boasted 180 horsepower when placed in a Wrangler, and 190 horsepower when placed in a Jeep Cherokee.

Beginning in 1991, the Jeep Wrangler engine used Chrysler engine processors, allowing for stress-free diagnostics. Between 1996 and 1998 changes were made to subdue sound, shaking, and harshness from the 4.0l Jeep Wrangler engines, together with a different cam lobe profile to cut valve seating speed, isolated valve cover fastenings, and adding a main bearing brace.

The 4.0L Jeep Wrangler Engine performed well, with few caveats. There were a few problems with the basic design, including sparatic leaks; the oil pump was infamous for wearing out at around 140,000 to 160,000 miles, and the TPS (throttle position sensor) on the ’89 and ’90 models was inadequate at best. Be sure to have around 30 pounds oil pressure at idle (give or take 5 lbs). The main reason for abandoning the 4.0l Jeep Wrangler engine was the oldness of the engineering parts. The pressurized coolant surge tank generally developed pin-head leaks, and there are alternatives which will work better at cooling.

The engine also can develop deterioration as a result of the cooling system. The original Renix injectors have an inclination to leak. If you suspect or detect a leak, it would be a good idea to replace your injectors with Five-O Motorsports’ Jeep injectors. If you experience oil leakage from the rear of the engine, the o-rings that seal the oil filter mount have most likely deteriorated. They are Nitrile which have short life spans. Substituting the o-rings with 70 Durometer Viton rubber resolves the problem.

When AMC decided they wanted to better their engine line, they made a decision to abandon the 4l altogether. To entirely retool would have been almost as expensive as upgrading the 3.7 liter engine did, and time is money. Rather than being pragmatic, money reigned supreme as they were told to, “Make a modern engine, and junk the old ones.” Since then, engines have become progressively more efficient and a new 4.7l long block engine was released, a powerful upgrade for the 4.0L Jeep Wrangler Engine. The engine ups the ante to somewhere near 265 hp to 290 lb.-ft of torque, and is designed to fit Jeeps fitted with the 4.0L Jeep Wrangler Engine from 1991 to 2006.

A 2003 4.0l Jeep Wrangler with a manual transmission gets an average of 18 miles to the gallon on the highway, 15 mpg in the city. The same jeep could accelerate from 0 mph to 60 mph in 10 seconds and can reach a top speed of 108 mph. Considering that the 2003 jeep commander engine weighs over 2 tons, those are pretty good times!
