So I am guy that’s almost 16 and im looking at SUV’s and I’ve found a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer Premier V8 AWD with 78,000 miles on it for ,986. Its a great price and it has a third row seat, dvd system, and sunroof. I originally wanted a 2003-2005 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer or Limited V8 but have had a hard time finding one. Gas, insurance, and maintenece wont be a problem my dad is very mechanically inclined and i can cover my gas and insurance as my insurance was quoted at 6 every 6 months which isn’t bad at al! So tell me what you think about this truck!
I think the mileage is average its a 7 year old car with 78,000 miles, thats around 11,000 miles a year!

okay 3 years ago my dad bought a car for my sister. everything was fine till 2 years ago when my sister crash. (the reason they crash is because her ex boyfriend hit her and then pulled her hair all the way down the the seat) imagine driving around 60-70 MPH she lost control and crash the car flip a couple of times, she was pregnant fortunately the baby came out just perfect thanks to god. the guy was drunk. he did not had the seat belt on so he flew out the car through the window he he turned out fine. the police arrested him because he said he was the one driving and he was drunk. but my sister was so he was taking the fault for the accident. later my sister talk and said she was driving.
so they let him out but the police never knew that he hit her when driving. because my sister loved him so she didn’t said nothing either. the insurance gave 10k to the guy for the hospital and stuff. my sister since she was pregnant the baby covered her. but they still had to pay the car there were like 6k left by "k" i mean thousand. but the car was still under my dad’s name. they got separate. so there was a deal between my dad and him. by word. since it was hes fault he was gonna keep paying for the car. he pay a couple of months but then he stop paying it. but my did didn’t know. so now a letter came home saying my dad is in collection. my sister and her ex. are both illegal immigrants… what happens is that my dad doesn’t like the idea of being i collection. what could happen if my dad talks and say’s the truth? that the ex. hit her wile she was driving and was drunk and that with the 10 thousand dollars he bought a new truck for him self and didn’t used it for the hospital. and hes living the life to the fullest and my dad in a hole. for the collection.??? if my dad talks could they do anything at all ? and have Police ICE involved? even though they have nothing to do in this? or what could happen?

Hey everyone, here’s the story.
I was driving down a fairly busy road during the day. When a traffic light had turn red, the 10-15 odd so cars in front of me slowed down to a stop, and so did I. After being stopped for about close to 4-5 seconds, me and my passenger heard a car honk half a second before a car hit me from behind. Obviously this is not my fault whatsoever, the woman who hit me from behind was charged and her insurance covered my car’s damages (close to 7 thousand) haha yeah… hit me pretty hard.
About a month later, the police officer who handled the accident called to inform me that I have a court hearing in 2 months involving the issue. The woman is taking this case to court to lessen the charges. I’m 17 years old and slightly worried about the hearing.
Should I be worried about this? I have two witnesses to this accident. One being my friend who sat in the passenger seat next to me, and the other which is a Tow truck driver who saw the entire thing. I sent the car to the auto body shop right there and then after the police came. And it’s good as new now. I’m wondering whether or not I would need to do anything to prepare for this hearing?
Would I need to bring my friend, or contact the tow truck driver? My parents may have to work that day, so I may be alone at the court. Do I need to prepare anything to say?
If I do attend, is there any chance that the charges will be reverse and the blame be put on me?

To make the story shorter this is what happen…

It was on the 22nd of this month when my girlfriend was in a rush to get something she had forgotten at a restaurant, since she was on a rush she disregard the stop sign. An suv was driving maybe at 40mph (free) when she impact with it at 65 mph. I don’t remember if I had my seat-belt on. After an hour a cop came over and told me and my girlfriend and the other guy from the suv if we needed an ambulance. We all said no. At that moment I just felt pain in my right ear, and itchiness in my right side ribs. 5 hours later I notice a big lump in by back between my neck and shoulder. its been disappearing by now. Ive been taking painkiller and I feel great but I try a day with out them and I just feel a bit of pain in my back, my ear still hurts well the external part. My grandmother told me to not worry about the money nor she being my girlfriend and for me to report her insurance to pay for me and that I must go with a doctor to x ray my back and check my nerves and all possible things because that could bring serious problem to me in the future, my grandma told me that the insurance should cover that but I don’t know. So I am planning to comment that with my girlfriend so we both go together with a doctor and check both of us because her chest hurt as hell too. The problem is that the insurance is under his dads name an he only lend it to her that day, the truck was borrowed. I dont know if the insurance will cover, or what legal actions I must take, I mean I dont have the courage because she is me girlfriend but its her fault. Please advide me what should I do? Thanks!

I was in an auto accident with my sister and nephew back in January. My sister was driving, my nephew in the back seat and myself in the front passenger seat. While driving down the street. This truck come speeding in reverse down a private drive way and slams into us. Anyway… The pip ran out on the insurance (Nationwide) and my pain specialist doctor tells me that my insurance (Medicare / Medicaid) wont cover the remaining balance because its due to an accident.

My lawyer tells me that Medicare or Medicaid will pay for the remaining balance. Is this true or is my doctor trying to pull a fast one?

I live in Kentucky.
The case is still open. I don’t know if a settlement can be reached. We most likely will have to file a suit.

We recently had a freak accident, my husbands truck caught on fire while we were driving it. Thank god no one got hurt, but I am wondering what the property damage covers on the insurance policy because all of my husbands tools literally got burnt, I mean really bad metal hammers and drills and a latter all together probably 500 dollars worth which is not a big deal we can go buy them, im just wondering why they wont cover this. Also my sons car seat was burnt, again not a big deal at least he is ok, but I just want to understand a little better.

My 19 yr old daughter has just lost another job and I am at my wits end.
She was in rehab at the age of 17, had a baby at 18 (baby stays with father most of the time because he does not & will not work) and moved home with us (mom & pop) at 19 in January 08. When we found out she was pregnant we bought her a nice car (02 Toyota camry) because we didn’t want our grandchild riding in something that was not dependable. Since January she has worked at 3 jobs and just recently got on with JCPenney (new store they are opening). Back in May she took a rode trip to see her best friend (her dad & I tried to talk her out of it.) leaving late at night and it was about a 200 mile drive. She wrecked the car. Fortunately she ws covered under our insurance. We paid the deductible, had the car repaired.
On the way to work at JCPenney last week the car breaks down. I paid to have the car towed to a service center and then to the Toyota Dealership. Needed about 00 of repair work. I didn’t want her to loose her job and even though I work I offered to take off to transport her back & forth to work (this is not a problem with the people I work with, they have been great to me).
I should point out that even though she is living with us there are times that she does not come home at all and we do not hear from her for days at a time. We would have a blowout about this behavior ,things would be good for a while then she would start again.
She worked this past Sunday did not come home, called me Monday morning to check her Schedule to see what time she needed to go to work. She was off but needed to work Tuesday @ 8am, and Wednesday @ 8am, off on Thursday. I did not hear from or see her until Wed. Wanting some money she had asked me to hold on to for her. I asked her why she wasn’t at work, she told me she didn’t have to be there until 12noon. ( Well I didn’t think that was unusal because I had worked in retail before and my schedule would change.) The dealership called, her car was ready, her dad and I went down and picked it up. She has ragged the car out. Stains all over seats and floor mats. Radio yanked out of it. Took it home and put it in the barn. I didn’t see her until Thursday Afternoon. Didn’t tell her the car was there. This morning she told me how much she hated living there,… that I was bringing her down. Later she called me at work and asked me when her car was supposed to be ready. I tell her if she is honest with me I will be honest with her. Did she still have a job? No. Did she work Tuesday or Wednesday? No Why not? Don’t know.
So then I tell her that her car is in the barn but she can not have it back until she gets another job. The person that she has been hanging out with can cart her around until she finds another job. She started cussing me and I just hung up the phone and now am rejecting her calls.
Am I wrong? Should I give her the car and tell her just to get her stuff and leave? Help!!!!
I appreciate everyone’s input. My grandson lives with his father most of the time and is in no danger. My daughter was in rehab for drug abuse. I love her very much and when her car broke down she called me crying asking me what she was going to do. I felt sorry for her and helped her because I didn’t want her to loose her job. This could have been a great opportunity for her. She is such a personable young woman. Great sense of humor. All thru her school career, her teachers would tell me what a delight she was and how much they enjoyed teaching her. EVERYBODY LIKES HER.
Maybe I should just let her have the car and tell her to leave. I have no idea where she would go and I know that I would worry about her.

This past weekend I get a knock at the door from some neighbors during a storm telling me that I should move my truck out of the street. I walk outside and see that my truck is sitting in nearly four feet of water. The water level rose up to cover the seats and nearly reached the dashboard. We put it in neutral and pushed it down the street so most of the water ran out. We used towels to get out what we could that night. I didn’t try to crank it, and I unhooked the battery cables. When I tried to crank it about 18 hours later it would not start.

My question is, can I sue the city for the flood damage to my truck since their sewer drainage system was responsible for the localized flooding on my street? Can they be held responsible for this? Or will I just have to settle with what the insurance company will give me for the truck since it is undoubtedly totaled? I have already paid about 500 on the truck, but I still owe about 00. How much can I actually expect to get?
Only around 200 feet of the street was flooded. The rest of the street had no flooding. It was pretty localized to my house and a few neighbors’ houses.

Okay, so my car’s parked at the edge of a parking lot. the spots in the parking lot are slanted so it’s easier to park (each lane thing is a one-way thing.) since the back seat is covering the view when i turn towards the back to see, i use the rear view mirror as i’m backing out. i’m backing out slowly w/ my foot still on the breaks. i hear a honk. i’m kinda slow to react so when i’m pushing down to hit the breaks i already hit the car. i come out of the car (b/c my parents told me if i even move a little bit after hitting some bad people will claim a hit & run) so i get out of the car. the girl’s going crazy cussing & telling me go get my car away. so i get back in & go forward a bit (back into the parking space). i look out the window & she tells me to go up more. i do. then she gets out of the car. she’s all cussing like crazy, complaining that it’s her fourth accident. i just say "sorry" b/c i’m kinda in shock. first accident during the three years i’ve been driving. she asks if i have insurance. i say no i don’t think so (i’m not sure. i have it for the car.. maybe for myself but wasn’t sure at the moment). and then she calls her boyfriend or something. she asks him what to do by saying "hey oppa i’m at school but this girl just hit me while she was backing out in the parking lot. it’s her fault but she doesn’t have insurance. what should i do in this kind of situation?" & i’m thinking.. was it my fault?

WHAT SHE SAYS: she claims she was behind me.. but i didn’t see her in my rear view mirror. i heard her honk. but by the time i was pressing on the breaks i hit her. but she says that "otherwise the dent wouldn’t be on the driver’s side honey."

the DAMAGE: HERS- a white mark on the side of her car smaller than a volleyball. it’s dented in a bit. the sides of it are dented (like a mini crater. (the white thing is where my white matrix hit it) the white part is basically where it’s the ditch and the sides of it go upwards to the orginal place. but the thing is.. it’s right between the car door & the left front tire. the bent thing kinda gets in the way for hte door to open. but iono.. she was able to get out. there’s some white/silver scratches..sharp ones ..i don’t think i have marks like that on mine so i don’t know if it’s even from my car.
MINE-a black scratch/mark thingy (similar to the one on her black car) in the shape of a tornado (5 inches ish across). & now the bumper’s sticking out on the side. not a lot. maybe.. an inch? less than that i think. dunno. can’t measure with my eyes. almost an inch though.
now she wants repairs paid for. replacing the fender and painting the car door (where the sharp white/silver scratches are) barely shorter than 0. i don’t know if this is necessary info though. uhh HER CAR: `06 black honda civic (two door) & MY CAR: `09 white toyota matrix.

at first i assumed she was right & it was my fault since she’s been driving longer & she honked.. but after thinking.. iono. help please?

okay so i did a test thing. i parked (straight since i didn’t have much room to park crooked the way the parking spot was). but i had my little brother drive back & forth almost right behind me. i could see the top of his head & up (including the roof of the car). nothing more than that. but the fact that i could see that whole thing means i should’ve seen the top of her car after i hit it. & i realized i have a habit of looking at the side mirror. but i remember on that day i looked at the side mirror & realized my laptop was in a spot where it could slide of the seat.. so i fixed it & then looked in the rear view mirror & backed up. i don’t know what happened but i heard a honk &then by the time i was pressing harder on the breaks (im slow to react but i was also wondering if the honking was at me) i already hit her car. if the part of her car up to the edge of the hood & windshield was there..i understand how i couldn’t see it & she was there.. but thinkingofwhere her car was hit..

yes asking this again b/c no one else is answering.. and i really need to know or i’m gonna get charged 780 b/c she wants to replace the entire fender and paint her door again.
