I HAVE HAD TWO DIFFERENT FORD TRUCKS THAT WERE 2003-05 AND COULD NOT GET ANY COMMUNICATION WITH A SNAP-ON SOLUS, AND A HAND-HELD GLOBAL. WHAT CAN I DO TO READ THESE ECM’S? I’m looking to buy a late 70s, or 80s Ford F Series pick up for daily driving for four months out of the year, and weekly driving for the rest.

I’ve been doing some research into it and have general idea what to expect when purchasing a Ford from that era. I understand parts are pretty available and not terribly expensive, but what sort of specific mechanical issues should I be aware of with F100/F150 pickups?

Heard about the cruise control recall on Ford trucks?

There has been a recall on the cruise control switch on Ford trucks. It seems that some brake fluid can leak into the cruise control switch causing it to over heat and causing a fire. There has already been a three different people that have died of the fire. My Expedition was taken to the dealer and they have supposedly fixed it, but now my vehicle won’t start. Anybody with a similar situation?

Some people say the oil and gas we put in our vehicles does not come from middle east. But we all know that if middle east stops the flow of oil the first country going to crash would be us. Why are we making ourselves so dependent on middle east oil? I just want to know everything about trucks. I currently drive a Ford Ranger XLT 4×4. I would like to learn how important things work. How to fix the " little" things. How to talk to mechanic friends. Just everything. Any answers are greatly appreciated. I find it easier to understand from average people, rather than look up a bunch of stuff on some website. Thank you.
