should i face my woofers up or formard??
i have a 96 ram 1500 ext cab and i am going to make a ported box for 2 kenwoods (maybe orions depends on which is deeper) i want to know which will be best for my installation. if i face them up then the seat will cover them patial time but i will mostly have my seat folded up and if i fire them forward will the sound that gets to me be the same? becuase it fires towards the front seat and no where else the ports will be facing the front of the truck (forward or parallel to the ground to make myself clear) so which would be better??? front or up????

I used to face mine forward, but I was told to face them backward, and it`s quite an improvement!

Bass is not directional, so do whichever fits better.

makes no difference.what you need to make sure of is,,,,the right dimension for your box,the correct port length,if you don’t tune the box right it will sound like crap.if you build it right,it’s non directional.most people think they can just build a box and thats it.throw in some details like,,,,how big the speakers, how much push? the first asnswer you got here that says turn them backwards evidently made that mistake if his sound improved.(proably got louder or fuller sounding because his box is not properly ported and tuned)these pre-built boxes don’t cut it either.do more research.get you some books.you’ll quickly learn that if those store bought boxes used the right dimensions for the sizes they have available, then the boxes are seriously undersized.and don’t forget,,what you do to the inside of the box matters too!
