Please answer this question VERY important to my family!?
We live in rural montana and are thinking of going on a 60 mile round trip visit to swim in a pool. Problem is: 1. We would have to use some rent money on gasoline, 2. the vehicle seats 3 and their are 4 of us, 3. the heater core is out on the truck so it may break down. We could borrow a car from a friend but we don’t have any. Their is no public transportation. It is about 100 degrees outside, and we would swim in a pool fed by hot springs. Would this be a good idea? I think not, by my girfriend thinks it would be a good idea even though we would be jepordazing our children, our transportation and spend rent money to swim. Please answer and be as cruel as you can;)

You live in rural Montana? For Christ’s sake move to Billings or Missoula.

your children and their safety deffinately come first. never put them in harms way for a luxery. rent a car? but i think that a roof over your familys’ head is way more important. i say…better luck next time.

Are you serious? How could you even think twice about putting your kid’s lives in danger? Even if it’s for one minuet, nothing if worth a life especially for some stupid pool. Buy an inflatable one and stick it in your back yard.

Oh, my goodness, honey. That’s just crazy. First off, you should consider your priorities. You should have enough money for rent and food before you consider going on a road trip or vacation. And what happens if your truck breaks down? You have no friends to call and no public transportation. How will you get home?
I say you take a cold shower!

She is a self-absorbed bi.tch. Why would you use rent money to go swimming? Tell that selfish girlfriend of yours to go swim in the bathtub.
Here is another thought why don’t the two of you find better jobs or go back to school so you don’t to worry about this kind of thing anymore?

From your description/side of the story…it seems like a bad idea. I live in Moscow, Idaho and several summers ago, while visting and then leaving Lewiston (30 miles south) my truck broke down in 90+ degree heat. My sister and I were miserable and because it was summer, all our friends were out of town, our family lives two hours north, and our cell phones wouldn’t get anyone trustworthy. We wasted a great summer evening baking like smoked sausages. If your kids are little, the car is questionable, and the seating is small…I think going is a risk, for everyone. You may get there and back safely and have had fun, but…
I think you should spend the day/evening with a special dinner, a running sprinkler (or kiddie pool) and ice cream, find a good funny, family movie and let the kids stay up a little later.
Whatevere you choose, have fun!

You are being practical by saying no…but are you helping by thinking of anything else your family can do in the meantime for fun and to cool down?
Is there anywhere closer you can go that will get the same results? Or would it be easier to buy a relatively inexpensive pool to set up in your backyard? Those inflatable kinds are getting less expensive and it would last longer than one trip to a pool. You might have to spend the same amount as a trip to a pool, but after you have it you get to use it over and over again for free. Recently I seen a decent pool in a WalMart flyer for $60.00 and that was here in Canada. They would be cheaper in the US where you are.
Or are the kids young enough to just run around in a sprinkler for fun? Because that is also cheaper and more practical.

lol, swiming in springs water may be seem fancy to me but..if id have to go thorugh all that id rather just sit in a tub of hot water. its not worth it, im shure your GF can buy a bunch of other cr@p to make herself feel better and have better skin….or what ever the advanteges may be of sitting in a pool of water full with minerals.

If you are the only sensible one out of you and your girlfriend, just refuse to go. If she insists, tell her to go by herself but if she wants to come back to the same house she has to pay her share of the rent before she goes and don’t let any children go with her under those circumstances. It sounds as though your girlfriend is a very selfish, spoilt, immature human being when especially she doesn’t care about risking the children’s lives to do this trip, let alone anything else.

Go to your local community center and swim or go in your backyard and cool off. Only the foolish waste their money.

Bad move don’t do it. That is very irresponsible on her part. You have to have a roof over your head. Use a water sprinkler, that’s what they did in the old days. Tell her to go get a bottle of blond hair dye & call it a night. The childrens safety comes first. Amen, Praise Jesus!!

your girlfriend is retarded, why are you risking your children’s well-being? Why would that even be an option? And rent money??? what will you tell your kids? honey, we got kicked out and have no place to live right now cuz we went to that swimmin’ hole. hello! turn on the sprinkler in the front yard, your kids will have just as much fun especially if you join them. It’s not about where you go with the kids to have fun it’s about what you do to have fun and you can have just as much fun at home.
