Need Help restoring a 1985 Ford F-150….PLEASE HELP!!!!!?
My dad is gonna be moving to Mexico soon and hes might be leaving me his 1985 Ford F-150. Its a great truck, its been running strong for the last 22 years. I can deal with a struggling motor for a while, im just focused on fixing the interior and exterior stuff first. By the way, its a two seater. Just that one row seating that could fit 3 people max. Does any body have any idea or clue how much it would cost for the following?:
-Whole New Dashboard
-Have carpet/upholstery installed on the floor
-Brand New front Row seating
-New Speedometer and every little gauge in that place
-New Steering wheel and the case that covers the pole leading the steering wheel to the axle
-Chrome Front and Rear bumpers
-Paint Job
-New Headlight and Tail lights
-New Side Mirrors and the metal that connects them to the doors.
-New Windshield
If you can leave me a website link that has most these things, thatd be great. Whoever gives most of the prices and help, 10 points.

search for "LMC Trucks" and get a free catalog. You could basically build and entire truck from it.

More than the P/U is worth. The seat alone about $600.00.

For the paint job it may actually be cheaper to paint it yourself rather than have someone else do it. A 20gal compressor, paint gun, sanding equipment, and some paint would probably not cost over $900, plus you’d have the tools afterwards for use elsewhere.
Restoring a car is pretty pricey unless you know where to get everything cheap. Since this a used car and not a rare, desireable car it may be cheaper to find yourself another truck that is in better shape. Unless, you just like fixing things.

Can’t give you a price but I can tell you how to acquire some parts to keep it cheap. It’ll be hard finding a new dash at all. Check you junk yard. Or get a dash cover. Look in the yellow pages for the carpet, get estimates. You most likely can order new seats. The gage cluster most likely can be ordered but if not try a junk yard. I know you can order a steering wheel. Not sure for the cover though. Chrome bumpers. Have them cleaned and chromed plated. Paint job depends on how much body work needed. Head and tail lights can be bought at any car store. Mirrors, go get some from a junk yard. Windshield, look in yellow pages and get the cheapest estimate. It won’t be the cheapest. And most likely cost more than the truck is worth. But don’t worry about that if you really like the truck. People seem to think if its old its not worth it. But if you like it and have the cash to spend why not.

The parts you listed and the paint job will add up to roughly double or more, what the truck is worth. 1987 F150 in fair condition with 100,000 miles is worth $1400. An average paint job will cost you that much alone.
