My Toyota Corolla ’01 Seat latch? (stupid…)?
Im trying to put some seat covers for the back bench seat BUT (ehmm) I cannot figure out how to move the seat forward. This car is fairly frustrating when you try to do things to it. Well?

The back seat of the 2001 Corolla has 2 options. The only difference between the 2 options is one has a split cushion on the back rest, where one side is bigger than the other. The other option is just a straight cushion for the back rest (1 piece). Either one of these will have a 1 piece bottom cushion.
If you have the split tops (where one side is bigger than the other), you should be able to pull them forward with a latch somewhere near the headrests. Another place some manufactures keep the latch is in the trunk. It’s not as common in the trunk though. Once the latch is pulled and the seat is forward, you should be able to install your tops.
Regardless of which seat option you have, you will need to remove the bottom cushion to properly install the covers, and ensure they won’t move around after install. The bottom can be removed on most vehicle back seats, by firmly lifting up on the front part of the bottom cushion. Most cars, the bottom cushion isn’t even bolted in, just held in be clips, to easily clip in and out. If by chance it doesn’t easily come out when you pull up, then that means you do happen to have it bolted in. In that case, there are only 2 bolts for the bottom cushion, they will either be found through the crack of the seat, or the front skirt area, by where the backs of your legs are (you can lift up the fabric to see the bolts).
Now if you have the 1 piece top, you need to remove the whole cushion from the car to do the install for that. Most cases, these are held in by 2 bolts on the bottom corners. After removing those, you need to pull up on the seat to remove, as the top part of the cushion will be anchored in the frame of the vehicle with hooks. When you re-install, you need to make sure those hooks are back in, before you bolt up and finish your job.
