Is there something i can buy to cover the back speakers in my trunk so they dont rip from my subwoofers?
I have a 2005 pontiac grand am with 2 12 inch subs in the trunk. When the subs hit the pressure in the trunk is making the back speakers flex way tomuch and they will eventually probably rip as a result. I know that they sell speaker baffels to put over the back of them but i dont think they will hold up because they are only foam. I have heard to fold my back seats down but they dont fold down. Is there some kind of box i can buy to isolate them from the trunk? I have in the mean time faded my music to the front speakers but it does not sound as good. I dont mind if it will decrease the performance or bass response from the back speakers as I have the subs formy bass. They are stock 6×9′s.

listen to Rabb, that is your best option

what works really well is to port your trunk. I know this sounds extreme, but its really not a big deal, and its the least costly thing to do.
Pretty much you want to cut good size holes in the metal under your back deck. Make sure you dont cut through your carpet of plastic deck plate, just the metal underneath. not too big, and not to where it will affect your vehicle, but a few 5" holes (say 2 or 3) in a few places will allow the pressure to flow into your cabin, and relieving pressure on your speakers. We had to do this before in a Bonneville because this was causing the plastic cone of the speaker to blow apart.
