Is it racial profiling to target pick-up trucks and cars carrying more than 6 people?
There is talk that this might happen in my city. I think it is unfair.
Everyone knows people from Africa always cram themselves into cars like sardines. And I just saw some pick-up trucks this morning by the Home Depot with at least 8 Africans in the back.
What can I do to stop them from treating Africans like this?

No, but unless they’re going after them for seat belt violations (in pickups) then what’s the public safety issue. Remember your rights.

I don’t know if it’s racial profiling so much as a safety hazard. It’s not even legal to pile people in the back of a truck, so obviously someone needs to tell the Africans to take two cars.

You should have looked a little closer. They probably were Mexican if they were at home depot and stuffed like sardines I have never seen blacks crammed into a pickup truck. Maybe a Oldsmobile 98

I would be more apt to stop a Honda Civic with 12 Mexicans in it

It is against the law many places to drive with more people than seat belts. It isn’t racial profiling any more than that city that has started strictly enforcing registration for out of state cars is racial profiling. It may be illegal immigrant target designed since, not having valid licenses, many times illegal immigrants have been known to overload vehicles. However, catching illegal immigrants isn’t against the law, it is the point of the law.
Do you want to be safe or inconvenienced for 5 minutes. Get over yourself!
