how much should i pay for this car?
How much would you pay for a 1991 Mazda 626? The car has 185,000 miles, no cd or radio (it was taken out and can easily be reinstalled), 4 new tires, nice rims, decent interior, sun roof, power locks don’t work (kind of annoying), ac and heater work, no leaks, new paint job, automatic seat belts (kind of annoying), looks really nice, may need a few minor repairs in the near future, new brakes. I know that Kelly Blue Book sets the price at 1200 but how much would you say this car is worth from what you know…?

185,000? That is a sub $1000 car. Offer 800 and haggle from there if need be.

It is foolish to buy a used car like that old . Since you will probably spend at LEAST 2-3,000 a year on gas and insurance and maint..go buy a decent car that wont break every 5 seconds and leave you stranded and with huge repair bills. Camry, corolla, civic, acccord, etc

i agree with the other answers. sellers these days always feel like they should be getting more than what is reasonable. they always forget to ask themselves if THEY themselves would buy what they’re selling for that price.

Personally, I would pass on something with so many miles..Let me guess,,The owner is saying HIGHWAY MILES!!!! Make sure you laugh out loud whenever you hear that statement..Tell the owner,"I was born at night, but not last night"…If you still want this car,,, become good friends with your local mechanic..

That is beyond a rip. I wouldn’t even pay for it, I would only consider it if it was given to me. The car is nearly 20 years old! That is not a very nice looking car, and the only areas i see that car in are in the ghetto areas. I for-see a lot of problems with that car in the future.

$750-900 would be all they would get out of me. I’d tell the seller it needs a fair amount of new parts like radio power lock relay brakes, etc… So unless they are willing to fix that & make the car worth a damn, then it sure as hell ain’t worth $1200 like the kbb site says it is. After all, that is only a guide not an absolute.
