Honda is better than Hyundai read this!?
I have 2 cars, a 05 hyundai sonata with 14000 miles, and a 87 honda accord with 276000 miles. My sonata has had multiple problems, about a month ago i was headed to work in the sonata, and the electrical system failed on the freeway, everthing including the engine shut off, i coasted to the side of the road, i could not get out because you have to press the unlock button, i was stuck in my car for four hours and was late to work, then i got fired. i took the car into the dealer and they said it was fine, as i was pulling out of the parking spot at the hyundai dealership, the car remained in reverse making this grinding noise, i put the shifter in park and the electrical system failed locking me in the car once again, the dealership had to open the doors manually causing damage, that proved to the dealership that there was a problem, but the dealership will not cover it because my last oil change was at a differant hyundai dealer while i was on vacation,so i payed for it myself taking out a second loan for my car, a few weeks later my sister took my car to walmart, while on the freeway the power steering locked up, she rear ended a ford in front of her at 75 mph and the airbags did NOT deploy, i am filing a recall on my so-not-a good car, and thank goodness she was wearing her seat belt, and wasnt in a e-launch-ra through the windsheild. i am so pissed. but my 1987 honda accord hasnt had a single problem and it has 276000 miles on it, i am getting rid of my hyundai and buying a new accord, take my advice, buying a generic cheap peice of crap like a hyundai and a kia is not worth it, pay for the leader like honda and not the coppier, have you checked out the looks of the new sonata and accord, they are identical, and that disgusts me that generic companies even think that they can come even close to competing with honda and toyota!

Wow, what a horrible experience. But I would never buy a Hyundai over a Honda, I’ve had great experience with Hondas myself in the past. I don’t think you can beat their reliability and longevity.

I’m with you. I’m on my 3rd Honda and I told my sweet hubby the other day I never want anything other than a Honda again. We had a Volvo V70 T5 wagon that cost us an arm and a leg every time we had it serviced. It went thru tires like they were paper. I LOVE my Honda!

All I can say is that I hope your lying, because if you were locked in your car for four hours, then you are obviously too stupid to realize that you can unlock the door without power. You know that little thing called the inner door handle has a manual lock/unlock switch right on it (all four doors)(hey thats 1 door an hour). Anyway I’m calling B.S. to your story and the next time you want to bash someones product don’t do it on the internet, too many people actually take it to heart.
P.S. check the reliability reports that jd power puts out(you might be shocked by what you read)

Your story is very hard to believe. I agree with the other answerers that maybe it is your fault and not the cars. Please read the owners manual or ask assistance about operating a motor vehicle before starting to drive again if you ever could. Also while you are at it, check out the JD Power and Associates’ report about Hyundai beating Toyota and Honda in reliability.

I like to think of Hyundais and Kia’s as disopable cars….they are cheap and will get you around for a few years. But I imagine in 10 years to landfills full of these crap cars.
Honda’s (and Vw’s) with a little love will last forever. I really don’t think the grand scheme of things paying $5000 or so more for a Honday is not that much…especially when things like what happen to you happened. It could have cost your life the accident.

so you must not be to bright just unlock your door with the knob
by your door handle and get out sounds like you have buyer remorse if you Honda is so good why did you but another car

Does your sister not know how to use the brakes? I’d also have to agree with vwdave about you not being able to get out of your car. Do you not know how to operate a door handle?
Ok, now that I got that out of my system…Hyundai is not a "generic cheap piece of crap" as you call it. Who knows, you might have just gotten a bad car…it happens with all makes, not just Hyundai. I am a proud Hyundai owner and plan on owning Hyundais for the rest of my life. They are the best car you can get for the price. Why pay more for less options? You are just another person who cannot see past what Hyundai used to be and see what they have become…a very respectable car company.
