has baby boomers ruined cars for all of us?
i went to a toyota dealer today.i wanted a no frills 4×4 truck.living out here in the bush,we just beat them up anyway.so i dont need a fancy truck.the salesman told me no one makes a no frills truck anymore because of all they crybaby baby boomers would b+tch and complain because they have to have a/c,heated seats, automatic trans, cruise, etc, etc.thanks baby boomers for making new trucks cost 45k!!!!!!!!!!! doesnt anyone make a heater and keys model anymore?.are we that fat and lazy as a people that we cant live without a/c? are people too stupid to drive a manual trans?living here in the rockies we dont need a/c and the mountains is hard on automatics.what makes me mad is that toyota makes a 4×4,4door truck they sell over seas, but they wont sell them in the states? why?

baby boomers have nothing to do with it… its what sells. i am in the baby boomer age group and i wanted a 4×4 with no options, i live on a farm in the sticks. finally found a dodge diesel with power windows [note i didn't want] sliding back glass[ note didn't want] and power seat[ note didn't want] has 6 speed manual trans[ i wanted] i could not find 1 with less options for less money. try blaming epa and all the younger folks that cannot drive a manual transmission vehical. i also get 19 – 20 mpg. does not have heated seats but it does have ac. if you want heater and seats go to gm and get their work truck, 6 cyl 4 or 5 spd heater, vinyl seats hand crank windows without radio, rubber floormats and a matte looking grill.

two words for you SPECIAL ORDER

I have the same complaint. I bought a new vehicle recently but wanted a low price not frills. Yeah I’m with you I would like to see somebody make a cheap no frills vehicle but with good mechanics. Some of us aren’t spoiled. I ended up getting an automatic because the dealers would only have one stick shift on the lot or none and then they wouldn’t deal because they couldn’t make any money on a stick shift. So I gave up and joined the crowd and got an automatic, AC, etc. . I am afraid that the stick shift will join the typewriter and only old folks will remember it. How can you convince the market analysts you exist if they don’t offer you anything you want to buy?
