Do we NEED UAW? Price/Options/Quality on a VW Jetta are far better for 20K than a Malibu, Why to cover pension
I had a 1995 Ford Mustang and at 50K miles the Head Gasket Blew costing me 00, they said they fixed it but it happened again at 93K miles. Screw that, decided to go with a 2006 Jetta it came with Turbo, Leather Seats, Sunroof, Better MPG, Triptronic, Laser Cutted Keys, and numerous options for around 20K, Went to see what Chevy, Ford, and Dodge had to offer for the price. STANDARD no upgrades NOTHING! For all the options I wanted car would have cost me 30K an extra 10K for what? To cover UAW pensions and Extreme Pay?? Arnt the Nissan Titan trucks 100% American Made and Built? While the F150 are 40% American made and built? Correct me if I am wrong. People that get paid .00 per hour are the ones that should deserve it, people that have earned it with a BA, Masters, or P.H.D, they should get paid for the complex of the job and their skill. Our family owns an AC company that deals with Ford, and when change a copper WIRE we have to let the union do it with 4 workers the work EXPLAIN

You talk but don’t even know the truth,I would like to see that Ford F-150 that is 40% and 100% Nissan.The average GM,Ford and Chrysler vehicle is 78% US and Canadian built,the average Japan automakers vehicle is 54%.You are crazy when you tell me your paying $10000 more for options,what extras are you getting?I just bought a Dodge Ram that had almost every option and it listed at $35000 and I only paid $23000.I happen to work at Toledo Jeep Wrangler assembly plant and man I didn’t know I made $35.00 per hour.I better tell the UAW that I’m getting screwed.Also if you don’t know how much we make per hour then you don’t know how hard our work is.I have seen new hires quit after a couple of days on their jobs,I have 29 years on the job and have to be on pain killers to get through some days.We had a employee killed at the plant about a month ago,seen tires fall 30 feet from overhead conveyors and seen a car fall about 10 feet off a conveyor.I wish I could sit behind a desk and get paid $35.00 per hour to push a pencil.As far as pensions,it is something that was given to us by the company,do you feel that the company should just take it away from us?It is not the pension that hurts as much as our health insurance,I blame that on the US government,why not have a national health care program like Japan?
