Can I mount an electric baseboard heater on an MDF wall?
We recently installed window seats made of MDF and are about to reinstall our electric heaters – since they sit on the front and are not enclosed in any way, is it OK to have them on an MDF "wall" as opposed to the standard drywall?
The window seat is between 2 bookshelves, so there’s nowhere else to put it – the heater was originally directly below the window…
It is in a bedroom in a Cape Cod style house, so the bookshelves are under the slanted part of the ceiling, and the window seat is in the "cut out" between them

If you are going to do it, just make sure you use a good primer to paint the MDF. I really don’t see that it would make any difference, since its electric. It would be the same if you put in an outlet under the window seat. Just make sure you use the appropriate junction boxes for the wiring and you are not pinching any of the wires. Make sure you follow all of the installation instructions, and wear insulted electrician gloves and use insulated tools or hire a pro if you don’t know about electricity, bacause there are no stupid questions when it comes to electricity. Be careful.

the mounting surface of heater should not get hot, and all things should be 3 feet from top and sides,—curtains, wires pillows, boxes, etc.,etc.,contact manufacturer for specific mounting recommendations.

Wouldn’t it be better to mount them on the drywall some distance away from the window seats…?
