BMW HELP: Can you give advice on what to do about cosmetic parts that need to be replaced in my 323ci? Thanks!?
Hi
My 2000 BMW 323ci has been a fantastic car, but I bought it almost 10 years ago. In 10 years of ownership, I’ve raised a boy since from 2 to 12, so there’s been quite a bit of wear inside! Can anyone tell me what the little sliding door is called that covers the storage spot between the two front seats? Also, can I repair, panit or replace the steering wheel buttons that have had the paint rubbed off, or would that require an entirely new wheel?
Here is a pic of the "little sliding door" between the seats, and also where it was before it came off:

Here, you can see the paint rubbed of the steering wheel buttons:

Thanks so very much for your help! I will choose a best answer quickly!

Wow you have really used this car, which is good! I’m glad you like it enough to try and fix it back up again. Spend some time at http://www.realoem.com It’s going to take you some time figuring out the categories, but you will have all the part numbers you need. I found the rear ashtray for you with the roller, it’s listed at about $45, but you can’t order from them. You will have to go the dealer or to bmwparts.com or just enter the part number into a yahoo search and see what it finds. I doubt you can get the steering wheel buttons separately, and then trying to replace them would be hard anyway, but ebay has your wheel at http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=32346753943&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_fvi=1
Ashtray: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BM33&mospid=47709&btnr=51_3241&hg=51&fg=35&hl=67 look at #10 in beige.
Also, if there are junk yards near you, find one that lets you go in and pick your parts. You can get this stuff for cheap usually, just bring your own tools!
