Cool Car Accessories for Teens

Cool Car Accessories for Teens

One of the most important rites of passage for any teenager is when they get their first car. It is something that marks a real change in their life – having practiced and worried for months about whether they would even pass their test, they suddenly have a kind of freedom that they have never had before. Inevitably, any teen will want a new, cool car. Equally inevitably, sometimes that just isn’t possible and they have to make do with a second-hand car or a cheaper model. Whatever the case, our first car is an important moment in our life as much for what it represents as for what it is. If the car itself is not the coolest you have ever seen, then you can at least make it look, sound and feel a bit classier.

One of the first things you can do if you are making a gift of an older car for the newly-mobile teen is to get the car thoroughly cleaned inside and out by a professional. The benefits of doing this are clear. It may not be a new car, but thorough valeting or detailing can make the car look new, or nearly new. Customizing the car is also a step worth taking. This does not mean that you have to add lights and tinted windows and make the vehicle look like a spaceship. What it does mean is making the car “feel” a little bit more like the teen that is going to be driving it. If they are interested in sports like swimming and canoeing, they may well need to put wet equipment into the car come the end of the day. Waterproof seat covers are a godsend in this situation. If their interests are more diverse, the customization can be equally so.

Alternatively, a remote car starter, which retails for around a hundred dollars, can be the little gift that really keeps giving. Starting your car on a cold winter morning before the heater comes on, or on a hot summer morning before the air conditioning has had time to weave its magic can really make a difference from a comfort point of view. There is nothing to beat getting into a warm car on a cold morning, or vice versa. Starting it remotely can allow you this little luxury – and if you give the teen in your life this opportunity they may not get it at first, but on that cold winter morning they will suddenly think you are the greatest!

You will have read the above ideas and may be thinking that the “cool” factor is conspicuous by its absence. It is true that practicality is the major concern of these tips, and this is necessary because there are few teenagers who will go straight to the practical when they are buying things for the car. Nonetheless, as a first car or a driving license often coincides with a birthday it can be a nice thought to get a present that your teen can enjoy rather than one that they need. An iPod docking station or GPS kit can serve a purpose here.

Buying A Car, Ensure You Get The Right Engine

Buying A Car, Ensure You Get The Right Engine

At present It is now becoming much more the issue that the choice of car you buy does not just rest with the car’s make, size, top speed, the basic instruments, the cup holders or seat covers etc, but what type of engine you have in your car.
Here we are not discussing a simply choice between petrol and diesel engines but what type of petrol or diesel engine, confusing?
It seems ages ago that we were then presented with the simple choice between a petrol or diesel engine, in present times we should give extra consideration whether to choose a diesel/electric hybrid or a petrol electric/hybrid or perhaps should we opt for an all electric car; how about an engine called an ECOnetic as fitted in a Ford or a car engine with Efficient Dynamics as fitted in a BMW; should it be with a turbo-charger or without a turbo-charger?
It’s quite a puzzle out there isn’t it as you will also have to take into consideration what kind d motoring you do, local town driving usually means a smaller engine car while if it’s regular long distance driving that would usually suggest a mid to large engine diesel.
Owning your own motor these days means you should be aware there are also E.U. regulations concerning the carbon gas emissions and diesel particulate figures to be taken into account. These EU regulations are getting more stringent as the years go by therefore you should give good thought to what type of engine you will have in your newly bought car if you intend to keep it for some years to come otherwise it could lead to expensive conversions later.
One car manufacturer who appears to be ahead of the rest as regards controlling particulate emissions are Honda, their new i-DTEC  diesel engines have a diesel particulate filter in-built into their engine unit but to own one of these you’ll need to write a cheque to Honda for £20,000 plus.
Finally while on the theme of cost, to try and comply with regulations concerning lower carbon gas emissions, diesel particulates and attain lower fuel consumption we have seen the introduction of smaller sized diesel and petrol engines fitted into middle to medium large cars backed up with turbo chargers to provide the boost of acceleration required for overtaking and other driving manoeuvres.
These cars with turbo charges might be the hot topic during boy-racer conversations but consider, will the combination of a smallish engine and a turbo charger in a medium large car be correct if there is a lot of driving at lower speeds that will put a heavier burden on the engine, while excessive mis-use of the turbo charger can prove harmful.
According to the company Warranty Direct who are experienced about such things, the average cost of a failed turbo is £874 but it could rise to a whopping £2500, which in anybody’s money is quite a hit on the wallet.
So, if you’re considering buying either a new or used vehicle, all electric, turbo charged or not etc. etc. you will have to think of the future as well as the present.

Defective Seat Belt Accidents Require An Injury Lawyers Guidance

Defective Seat Belt Accidents Require An Injury Lawyers Guidance

In Californian cities such as San Diego and Los Angeles, defective seat belts are potentially harming thousands of people who take to the roads each day, many of which are involved in car accidents that risk injuries and their lives. Without the protection of a properly functioning seat belt, these injuries are typically much worse and can even result in wrongful death in Los Angeles or San Diego. If you’ve recently become the victim of a car accident in which the seat belts in your car were defective and unable to protect you or your loved ones from harm, you should contact an injury lawyer right away. These types of accidents and the injured victims that are involved deserve compensation and retribution.

Defective seatbelts can lead to incredibly substantial injuries in the instance there is a vehicular accident. Many times these seat belts do not hold a victim in place once vehicles collide. That type of impact has the potential to throw a person out of the windshield or another window if the seatbelt is not working properly. A potentially mild fender bender could all of a sudden risk tremendous injury to a person, or possibly risk their very life. If the injuries you received from your car accident were incurred because you were wearing a defective seat belt, you need to contact an injury lawyer immediately. He or she will know the legalities involved with these types of cases, and therefore will know where to go to get compensation for the injuries you’ve sustained. You will likely be able to receive compensation from your insurance company as well as the manufacturer or dealership from which you bought your car. Oftentimes these types of claims can be settled very fairly outside of court. Whether in or out of the courtroom, however, your injury lawyer will be able to help you get the financial retribution you need to cover all of medical costs and any other costs that you may incur from your car accident with a defective seat belt.

Rather than being unable to hold a victim in place during an accident, defective seatbelts will sometimes not release a victim when the time to exit the damaged vehicle has arrived. In these instances, it is luckily fairly easy for rescuers to merely cut through a seatbelt in order to retrieve the victim. But it is very possible that until rescuers do finally arrive, a victim could be trapped within the vehicle, potentially suffering even greater injuries during the wait. Any type of injury that you sustain during an accident in which the seatbelts were defective will likely be expensive. If your injuries were sustained or worsened because of a defective seatbelt, you should not be held liable for the cost of medical treatment you receive.

Proper Maintenance of Teak Deep Seating

Proper Maintenance of Teak Deep Seating

An easily attainable home luxury, teak deep seating brightens up an outdoor setup and conveys a look of sophistication and elegance. But it’s not just an attractive building material; teak is one of the most naturally durable hardwoods available that needs very little yearly maintenance. Even though you may have to pay more upfront, it balances out on the back end with all the money you will be saving from not having to restore or buy new patio furniture down the road.

One of the unique characteristics that sets apart teak deep seating from other wood furniture are the cushions that match with the low wooden seats. These cushions are made from a durable material that’s both waterproof and rip-proof, not to mention stain-resistant. Basically, it’s meant to withstand the elements and the accidents of daily life. Because of this, cleanup is simple. All you need do is wipe off spills with a damp rag. For stronger stains that have set in, soap and/or bleach mixed with water is recommended. Also, like the seats themselves, cushions should be brought indoors when you are not using them. They are easier to store because they take up less room than an entire chair or sun lounger, and second, it will keep them looking like new for years to come.

Indigenous to the monsoon forests of Southeast Asia, teak is strong enough to survive in particularly warm and humid climates. The Class one hardwood is very heavy, but what are really special are the natural resin oils the tree produces. These oils protect it from insects, rotting, warping and cracking, basically working as a synthetic sealant.

That being said, to say that teak requires zero maintenance would be incorrect. Teak deep seating requires much less upkeep than other types of hard and softwood, but some measure of care should be taken.  For instance, outdoor furniture can be oiled up to a few times a year to help bolster the natural oils. Indoor teak deep seating requires less oil because the wood will retain more of its natural oils when not exposed to the elements. Additionally, leaving teak untreated will cause the wood to fade into a natural patina gray, though this in itself is not harmful to furniture, so it’s really just a matter of personal preference. Not only do sealants keep the patina from occurring, it also darkens the shade of the wood. In general, the darker the stain, the more protection from the sun can is achieved. Two coats of sealant are usually adequate for most teak deep seating, but be sure to let each coat dry before applying another. For mild stains, a soap and water mixture should work, and for harder stains and mildew buildup, try water and bleach. The best thing to do when you’re not using your wood patio furniture is to either cover it with waterproof tarps or bring it all indoors.

Teak deep seating can be tricky to navigate if not approached with the proper know-how. Not enough care, and the wood will fade and break down over time, especially when kept outdoors year-round. On the other hand, too much care (or in this case, over-oiling) will cause the wood to turn black. But if a happy balance can be achieved, you will never need to buy another set of patio furniture again.

Ways To Save Money When Buying A New Car

Ways To Save Money When Buying A New Car

Buying a new car is a major decision in the life of a majority of individuals, primarily because it involves money and emotions.

It is prudent to take care of your expenses while buying a new car, because it can go a long way in affecting your personal finances.

Here, we discuss some ways to save money when buying a new car ( I presume that you have already done your initial study of which car to buy and have also decided upon your budget for the same ):-

By following these ways, you can be assured that you would be getting good value for your money and also leaving the dealership with a happy smile on your face.

1)

One of the easiest ways to save money in the long run is to make sure that the car is fuel efficient. In these times of recession, a vehicle can be an enormous strain on our personal finances, if it is not fuel efficient. So, do a comparison of different models for their fuel efficiency before buying a new car.

2)

Among the easiest ways to save money is to do Comparison Shopping. This involves getting quotations from different dealers who deal in the same model of the car which you are interested to buy. The convenient way is to get quotations over the Phone / Internet. In most of the cases, the dealers will send one of his representatives over to your house / office along with the necessary brochures to discuss. Upon request, they can also send a car to you for a test drive.

3)

Also, check the prices of the particular car online. This will help you to start discussions and further negotiations in a well informed way and also create the good first impression that you are a serious buyer who is looking for ways to save money and to get full satisfaction from his exercise of buying a new car.

4)

Once you get the prices from all the dealers, then comes the process of Car Purchase Negotiating with them. Be confident and ask them for the maximum possible discounts which they can offer. Also, ask them about the freebies (Like music systems, seat covers, alloy rims etc) which they would be willing to give in order to close the sale. This is one of the easiest ways to save money when buying a new car, because, after all this discussion, the salespeople are convinced that you are a willing customer and would be doing their best possible efforts to satisfy you and close the deal.

5)

After negotiating for the maximum possible benefits, I advise you to negotiate a little more…..and with luck, you may get something extra… After all , it is your money and you must try your level best to save your personal finances.

6)

Once you have decided upon the final amount to be given for buying the new car, then the next step is to ask the dealer for the best possible financing options. Also, you should contact the banks and the financial institutions for the lowest possible interest rates while applying for a loan for buying a new car. This sort of homework must be done so that you can have every possible option at hand which you can utilize to save money. Also, Try to keep your loan repayment terms to the shortest amount of time. It is one of the most practical ways to save money in the long term. If possible, then take the loan repayment term for a period of 36 months (3 Years), for getting the lowest possible rates of interest. This will help you a lot in managing your personal finances in the long run.

7)

Also, try to negotiate so that you can have zero / minimum pre payment facility – ( in case you decide to prepay the loan before the expiry of the loan repayment period ). In most of the cases, there is a pre payment penalty, but with adequate negotiation, it may be reduced. This is also one of the ways to save money for yourself in the long run.

8)

Also, try to go in for extended warranty on the parts. Nowadays, manufacturers are offering extended warranty for a nominal price, so it is better to negotiate the price with the dealer and then buy the extended warranty. It is essential because you would essentially be buying your piece of mind. There might be a major fault in the engine later on, and if you have warranty, then it would be taken care of without any extra cost on your part. So, buying extra warranty should be included in your list of ways to save money when buying a new car.

What Are Folding Chair Covers?

What Are Folding Chair Covers?

Have you considered the impact of your folding chair covers on your occasion? Well, if you haven’t then read on.

Before we delve into that, let’s make a brief pause and give an overview of what the folding chair in itself is all about. You would agree with me that the folding chairs are usually not the most appealing and elegant furniture even though they have their special usefulness. In most of the times they are brought in to supplement existing seats when there is urgent need for extra seating. Occasions like parties would sometimes have unexpected number of guests and would demand an emergence response. The folding chairs which can be taking form places like the gardens or the neighborhood and in unpleasant appearance would satisfy this quest.

How then can you make it look more appealing in order not to displease your reputable guests? To make them look good and presentable, what you would be required to do as a matter of necessity is to get them covered. The reason is simple; this will quickly hide their bad looks from your guests. What is also good about these chairs is about their sizes. In most cases the sizes appear similar which makes it very easy to acquire a cover best fit for them. More to the point is the fact that most stores actually stock covers specially made to fit them.

Again, folding chairs covers are very cheap to buy as the cost is also dependent on the number you buy. This implies that the more you buy, the less expensive it becomes. In this case you can take advantage of it and buy lots of them at far cheaper prices if planning for functions like parties on a large scale. At wedding parties for instance, some people high them out to increase the ambiance of the room.

You would also have to consider the material with which most folding chairs are made of. Usually they are made of plastic or metal legs. This can stick out from beneath and become very unpleasant in appearance. Folding chairs covers which have skirts on them can be your best solution in this situation. Again, the best folding chair covers come with ties which can be perfect for preventing the ends from getting damaged or flapped.

Aside the above, you can also be on a far cheaper side by making them yourself. By this, you are able to measure the accurate size of your chair and cut the materials to fit them. You can cut these very inexpensive fabrics to your own creative preference whiles maintaining some level of uniqueness in the finished product. To do this some people prefer to add names of their expected guests’ whilst others would employ the use of embroideries. You should feel satisfied with yourself if you are able to make a good output!
