2002 Grand Prix with 200,000 Miles – should I buy it?
At the local dealership they have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix with 200,000 miles on it, its 95.
I havnt looked at it in person but the pictures shown seem to be very nice, the seats look a little worn but nothing a seat cover couldnt fix.
I believe its the SE model.
This car would be my first car, I am 16.
Do you think this car will hold up for 6-12 months or so?
Or do you think its a waste of money?
Also what are the chances of me getting a better price?
Is it worth 1695?
Thanks!!
Here is the link to the car if you want a better look!!!!

I’d say don’t buy it because it has 200,000 miles on it. Go to kbb.com and search how much its worth and it’ll tell you what you should do.

Pontiacs, in general, are not known for their reliablility. The most recent models…G6, G8, etc, are a great improvement of earlier models. However, it also depends on how well the car has been maintained. If they have stringent maintenance records, it may be worth close to what they are asking. Otherwise, I would suggest negotiating the price to no more than $1,400. Try looking up the blue book value online.

No. Find something that will be more reliable. I, along with a few friends have owned Pontiac’s. The more miles they have on them, the faster they fall apart. Trust me.

keep looking 200,000 is alot of miles. plus that 1600 aint out the door, your prolly be looking at more like 2500 out the door so no way.craigslist.com start looking there

Stay away, the only way I would buy one of these that has that many miles on it is if it had the 3.8 V6, and even then I would be very careful. Even if it runs good, all the bells and whistles are going to start falling apart.
