20% tint vs 30% tint?
Hi! I have a white Saturn Ion with gray interior and black seat covers. I live in TN and the legal limit for tint is 35%. I’d like to go darker. Should I go with 20% or 30%? Is 30% dark enough? (My car doesn’t draw attention from cops usually). Thanks!

Actually, 20% is darker. The smaller the %, the darker the tint. You’re better off going with 30% to stay more legal without getting in trouble with the law.

the percentage refers to how much light passes through, only 20% of the light will penetrate 20, and 30% respectively. 30 is plenty dark, but 20 would probably be fine too. I’ve had 20 on my truck for around 2 years, same legal limit here. I’ve never had an issue. Usually, unless it’s the end of the month and cops need to fill their quotas, you probably won’t get pulled over for tint. If anything it’s usually just something they add onto your ticket.
20% tint because you have to think about at night time how dark it will be outside, ON TOP OF the tint. Best o’ luck!
